The difference is the maturity of the target. It's hard to think of children being immature when you see them immitating adults or acting tough. They are still children and see the world through young eyes, regardless of how we might judge their behavior.

No, I wouldn't take offense to that statement...but theres enough of an scathing edge to it where it does throw up some red flags. I meen, I guess it's a basic problem with internet ediquite. A simple '' or 'j/k' goes a long way when trying to show your intentions.

And for me it's not even an issue of age...I beleive (again, internet communication leaves much to be assumed by the reader) WheelOfFire's comments were of a malicious nature and wouldn't be appropriate to any forum user given the nature of the original post.

Wow, it's easy to get sucked into these internet debates, isn't it   I just think Wheel was being unjustifiably rude, and if this has happened before then I don't think Kyro was wrong in the banning.

Let's make this a friendly place, not a forum where people should be afraid or ashamed to voice their opinion (or rap lyrics, as is currently the issue).

We arent, but some of us are more marginally acceptable. I am quite happy that there is a person like Etrius on the forums. He is just here to have a few laughs and show off a little rap making skill and this whole thing was blown out of proportion. If he would have been a more veteran member maybe he would have reacted differently to Wheel's comments, but its not like any of us jumped to explain the situation to him either.



If he ever did come back, he would return to his ways without positive encouragemnt.

There is a lot of truth in this statement. However, on the flip side you could use this argument to excuse *any* behavior. Clearly being too quick to take offense can be just as bad as being too quick to give offense. But that doesn't mean that being too quick to give offense should be blameless.

Look what i'm saying is, no matter what you post, there will be someone who has a different opinion, it doesn't always have to end up like this, i have had many an argument on here without it getting out of hand. Granted you may not have known Wheel's style, but your "schoolboy" response was no less abusive than his. You said you don't like people being rude, though you went down that road yourself...(one that i'm more than happy to travel)

Anyway, take 90% of the things in this forum with a grain of salt. Half the stuff you read and find offensive, is just a misunderstanding and the other half, well give it back to them!
