Must i use Impulse?

Ok so i want to pre-order the game to be eligible for the beta so i hopped over to the Impulse Forum and it seems like there is lots of problems going on with Impulse.

 Do I have to download Impulse to play the game? When the box version is available will Impulse still be used?

Impulse will be used for the game in digital form, and for all updates once the game is out in stores (boxed copy)...

In theory you won't have to use impulse once you have a boxed copy, but then you won't be able to update it either... And prolly not be able to play online (depending on how online works with demigod)

Please don't forget that the Impulse forum is the Support forum. It is filled with everyone who has problems with it (which compared to the whole is not that many).

What its not filled with is the legions of other gamers who are having no troubles with it.

I believe the plan is to have Impulse itself as the MP matchmaker for Demigod, so it will probably be required for online play, as you say.

hi there,
i got a little question about the pre-order from stardock-store or impulse.
i pre-ordered over 2 months ago and now i downloaded impulse to get som experience with it 'till the beta starts. but i'm a little bit confused. is there any possibility to add a game bought strough the stardock online store to my impulse-games? and if yes, how? for sure i got my validation key and the e-mail which said that the pre-order was ok and with the informations about everything and such a code...

i think you know somehow what i mean and my midclass- english is good enough for not getting eye-cancer

i hope you yan help me with my confusion

The email you got with a key was the order number, it was not the serial that you will use to register the beta. Your pre-order was not yet charged, and when the beta is released Stardock will process all the preorders and send out new mails with the serial numbers - that's what you'll use to register the game in Impulse, and that's when you'll be able to download the game. Hope that makes sense

thanks a lot! for now im looking forward to the beta like i didnt for any game since warcraft3 .

If you paid with stardock tokens you will get a serial number right away. Tokens are only good with the stardock website.

no i actually paid with a normal credit card was my first game i bough via stardock store. dont know how it works with these tokens exactly but maybe next time

I think tokens are going to disappear over time... As they aren't really an IMPULSE thing...
