they should keep it the way it is. 1st of all how can somone purchase something when they are not 'alive' or present yes i know this is a fantasy game or w/e but still in order for ur demigod to get an item he has to be there to get it. and with the skills it really isnt going to make much of a difference whether or not u can pick ur skills while ur dead or not cuz that only takes about 5 seconds max. i would say that neither should be allowed because of the point of the death clock. because you messed up in someone u died. therefore death is a punishment. to be able to buy and get skills while ur dead would basically make death like going back to heal. though i do agree with buybacks as it gives a player who has a full inventory something to do with their money.

The problem with death the way it is now is it's absolutely jarring, completely breaks immersion in the decision making process and cuts out a good time for new players to learn the game. No other game makes death such a harsh penalty and takes the player so far out of the game.

I don't believe the death breaks immersion. If anything its more realistic because in death you can't do crap! .

For new players to learn they can verse AI or play single player like new players should do to learn the basics. During death is not the time to make economic decisions or view wares or learn more about the game.

Also I don't see how the current death system takes away decision making. You can still watch your allies and enemies and plan out what you'll do once you re-spawn.

I want to pull out a book. That is not being immersed. Reality is not necessarily immersive. This game progresses too quickly for spending 40 seconds watching the ebb and flow to be worthwhile. You can be caught up and ready to go in under ten seconds, and there needs to be something to do. You should be able to review your build and take a careful look at your abilities while dead. All your time should feel useful.

I agree with xthetenth espes cialy for new players it could be very helpfull. When you have ~20 seconds, you can just check which items are doing what I don't see any problem with that.

My point is theres a penalty to death.. you shouldn't be able to do anything for however long. The point of killing an enemy is to get gold and experience but overall remove that player from the game almost completely for as long as the timer lasts. It's basically the ultimate disable.

Did you type in hyperlink? Anyway, I don't agree that death should be the time for new players to learn. Read my post above.. A new player should learn verse computers or in single player.. Being dead online verse other players isn't the time to review economic and strategic decisions (although nothing stops you from watching allies or enemies.) Also when you die you should think about what you did wrong or how you can change the outcome of a battle next time.

Again i've to say: If your dead u shouldnt be able to do a thing. No buying! Maybe look at the items you want to buy, but no buying. Dying shall punish you and your team - else these games will never end. I dont like the Idea of a buyout. I dont like it in Dota, it makes it alot harder to end games due to this option.

We dont lose any gold for dying in the current state, so atleast a time punishment/loss should be there.

Skill shopping is something diffrent, would be cool. Specially for beginners, so they can re-read the skilltree a little more while their dead^^

Looking at the tree isn't just for beginners. It's a good time for vets to think about what defeated them and whether their current build is appropriate, and think about whether they should change it. Also, for those of us who don't have what level every skill they have is currently at memorized, it lets you double check what level your abilities are so you can plan your next few levels.

A shop button while sounds great but we've gotten a bit off topic lol.

Anyways I think you should be able to buy back with the price depending on how many seconds until ressurection. Obviously not dieing is always an option but its nice to have something to do just in case. I mean if I have 10000 gold in my reserves and am dead and losing it would be nice to be able to use some of it to buy back. As for the one-sided arguement you could just kill the guy several times and make him spend all his gold.

Also regardless you should be able to view skills and items while dead simply so new players can take the time out as a blessing to read some of the lengthy tool tips.

I don't mind the original idea as an idea, I'm just worried about the implementation. The only way to make it not automatic is to make it expensive enough that nobody would use it, making implementation wasted time. The margin for sucessful implementation of such a feature in a game catering to such a broad market is thin enough to cut butter with, and the consequences for missing could be tremendous.

It just draws out games longer. If you screw up a teamfight and getting destroyed, well then live with the loose. It just gives a lot more room for failures. + I exists in Dota, and isn't one of the best design choices i'd recommend.

Non-Item dependant heros with great AE stuns or AoE Effects - aha like Torchy - could delay the enemy alot until the rest of the team is back to life. And since you get alot of gold in demigod without killing stuff - unlike in Dota - those undependant heros could this alot more often than i'd wish to.

The idea is ok, i just dont like the mechanic since its only good for delaying a game.. dah, dont need that imo.
