Suggestion: Mouse Scroll

Using scroll wheel in and out over and over again is too cumbersome when I just want to move the screen a little bit to the left

When the mouse is at the edge of the screen it should scroll the screen that direction.

 

Another thing: When running dual monitors, the curser can escape the game screen and move into the second moniter, so you could probably fix this by checking if the cursor is outside of the bounds of the current resolution and if it is then put it back inside.

I agree with the mouse scroll idea.  Everytime I pushing up a few feet and I then have to zoom out and zoom in to regain focus.  This is annoying and slows me down, more importantly, it take me out of the experience.

Yes i agree with this suggestion since having played the Wc3 dota and using the mouse to scoll using the keyboard keys are kinda werid ...

I agree with the agree-ers on agreeing. Mouse scroll is much more natural then constantly zooming out so that you can zoom back in elswhere.

I was just coming to post this same thing.

I find myself constantly pushing at the edges of the screen with my mouse pointer.  The arrow keys just don't cut it.

Additionally, a "reset" button to restore the view height and orientation would be handy as well.  See the Backspace key in the Dawn of War games.

Personally, I kind of got hooked on zoom-scrolling from playing so much SupCom on larger maps, but having the option to edge-scroll with the mouse would definitely come in handy at times.

I agree with this 100%, It feels awkward to not have a mouse scroll.

One way I found to adapt for now is to scroll out slightly then scroll back in on a position a little further out, it works for the moment.

Edge scrolling would be nice, though remember that you can hold the middle mouse button to scroll as well.

I'm used to hotkeys for ability use, and needing to use the arrow keys detracts from the default skill keybindings which are nicely placed.  I'd love to move the x,y plane by edge-scrolling.  No need to change the z axis scroll, I like using the mouse wheel for that.

For the middle button x,y plane scroll you need to allow an alternate scroll configuration...ie instead of moving down while the middle button depressed scrolling the map up, moving up scrolls the map up.  Basically offer a reverse configuration. If thats already in, I'd love to know how to get to it.

Once I got in the rhythm the middle button scrolling worked better than edge scrolling for fast action and escaping, so I really like that use.  particularly since it frees the left hand for skill use, messaging, etc.

I agree to on the suggestion, keep this extreme zooming like in supcom in, but also enable a mouse-scrolling

it just is a little nicer

I agree as well, mouse scrolling is pretty much a standard of the genre, as it was annoying and tedious trying to play without it.

Right now I personally just focus on the Demigod with T, rotate with spacebar and zoom out when I need a bigger overview. This way you can easily keep your fingers on QWER.

Posting in the hopes that an edge of the screen scroll will be implemented.  Zooming in and out can get tedious.

I've had the same problem with supcom , this must be due to the engine ...

Since demigod won't use multi-screen it would be good to fix that.

 

Ohh and +1 for mouse-scroll , and camera rotation ...etc .. (but I think they're already working on it ^^)

Guys if you haven't already found this out you can sort of pan a little bit if you hold down mouse 3 and move the mouse or you can use the arrow kets but in general you are right it is pretty hard to move back and forth.  Also it would be sweet if the camera could be rotated but again this is beta 1 so gameplay suggestions aren't what they are looking for.  Just know that you can move a little right and left with holding mouse three or the arrow keys.

I never used edge scrolling I couldn't stay in control especially since I played WC3 in windowed mode.

 

The arrow keys work perfectly fine for me and it keeps me in control, but by all means.. the more options the better.

Agreed. Mouse edge scrolling and a perspective default reset button would be great.

Thanks! I hadn't pressed the 'T' key yet, it really does help. I don't know if I even care about mouse scrolling anymore!
