NPC Portals

Here is a thought just to run by you all. What if the game had NPC (not friendly to neither team) Portals with bad guys coming from it? This portal like a flag can be captured and you take control of them. Would this help the game play or hurt it???

This has been discussed a couple of times.. Most of us came to the conclusion that it wouldn't work to have neutral units on the map.. My reasoning was "Where do we put these guys?".

Others had the cool idea to have a big neutral boss when the center flag is captured (I think)

Well.. would be a nice idea, but's hard to implement without upsetting the balance. Do they walk random on the map? Follow pathes? Do they attack rnd bases or one wave to each side.. etc. etc.

On bigger maps for 4v4 / 5v5 it could be fun, but for smaller maps i wouldnt suggest it.

Ok what if a set of portals are dormant you have a huge switch to turn the portal on and this would be like a flag same stand time by hero to capture the portal.

A you mean, normal Portals which you have to activate first.. well that sound great. Maybe put some neutral-Towers infornt of the portals, so you have to put some effort in getting them.

That's pretty cool idea, like it. Thumbs up for it
