Does no copy protection mean that the game is completely transferable to someone else? (Online play included)
Will there still be use of cd keys?
A simple explanation or a link in the right direction would be appreciated.
1) No you cannot transfer your serial number to another person. There is a EULA (End user licence agreement) that says you do not have the right to resell your game or account.
2) Yes very much so. Serial numbers allow us to distinguish between those whom have paid for the product and those whom have not. If you have then you can participate in online play and may recieve additional content we provide to you. Also through Impulse you can download your game as often as you like and always retain the back up of the purchases to your account.
What it all really means is that when you stick in the CD or DvD it just works. It installs and you go right ahead and play, no need to even keep the CD in the tray. Now when you go to play online or get new content you must register the product. There are now more reasons to do that than ever before so it's always in the best intrests. This is what it means to think of the customer first. No CD changing or carrying with you to play games on desktops or laptops. No need to go through any more security than the minimum requires, and once you do you shouldn't have to do it again.
Hope that helps!
