[IDEA] Auto-Teleport to Crystal Hotkey

My APM is very low. I am not very good at moving the screen around and clicking on a bunch of different things. This isn't really an issue in Demigod, as you only have to worry about your one unit for the most part. The biggest annoyance is when I'm trying to teleport back to my base, and I have to zoom all the way out, rotate the camera a bit, and click on the relatively tiny health crystal. Even this isn't a huge problem unless I'm trying to use the Teleport Scroll as a retreat option. It has, however, killed me more than once.

I suggest that a hotkey is implimented that automatically activates a Teleport Scroll targeted at your health crystal. As it is, I almost double the casting time just finding and clicking on the health crystal.

you might want to try teleporting to the Stronghold instead; it's very close the crystal, AND it's a much easier target to teleport to.

and before you start casting; start running away. if you get the target (or stronghold) straight up then no sweat of your shoulder, but if you miss you still have the consolation of being slightly further away from the front-line and hence that much safer.

If I teleport to the Stronghold, then I have to walk around it to get to the shops and crystals. My APM may be low, but I still have the concept of time being valuable. I would save a lot of time if I could just press a key and go to the crystal.

I know that I can run away, but that doesn't always solve the problem. If its a Regulus snipes me half a second before I get a healing tick that would save me, then running wouldn't have helped in the first place. This seems to be the most common situation. Plus, if I'm playing Rook, then its really hard to make tracks in the opposite direction.

I know that there are ways around it, and I know that it doesn't have to be a problem. I'm saying that its something that would be useful. The game will function fine without it, it will just help.

erm.. but how would this work?
You said a hotkey.

There would wind up being sooo many hotkeys if one was made for every posibile thing

I just zoom out and click the crystal.

Maybe a better suggestion would be to make it so you can activate the scroll and right click the ground anywhere and it'll teleport you to the closest building to where you clicked? That way yuo'd just have to click on the ground near the crystal, that'd make it much easier for people without using up any hotkeys.

Meh, whatever. I just do this quite a lot, and I imagine it would happen even more often on larger maps. This is just a common action that requires you to move the camera to view the other side of the map while people are shooting at you. This is hardly "every possible thing", although I'm sure there are a handful of other things that they could impliment to make life easier. I am not asking for a bunch of random hotkeys because I think they might be theoretically useful in one situation. I'm asking for one hotkey to fix a common problem that is annoying me. I have rationale behind my opinion and reasons to support why it would be beneficial to gameplay.

If its just me who finds this annoying, then I guess it isn't really needed. Oh well, I would have found it extremely useful.

I dont see how a bad idea to make alot of hotkeys. One good reason to play computer games is that you have many, many "buttons" available to you on your "controller" so why not use them all?

It's daunting to learn new hotkeys when you have 60 of them.

Though if the "minor" hotkey options are in the settings, but blank, that's easier to me. That's how it is in a lot of my favorite games, actually.

You don't need 60. Just one: "teleport to crystal". All the others you can do using the mouse but teleporting back to your crystal is done so often that it can surely use a hot key.
