No doubt the best update for Demigod yet. A grand, massive new map with solid, epic music and the ability to adjust the flow of incoming enemy units makes for some truly enjoyable gameplay. Though the update comes with it's problems, I'll make some pointers below at what I feel needs to be addressed while it is fresh on my mind.
- Unclean Beast needs a larger Auto-Attack range.
- Items are great, but perhaps too great?
- Grunts useless after awhile?
I noticed in the previous build that the Unclean Beast's Auto-Attack was rather poor. Certainly he cvan attack units around him, but he will not automatically engage long-range units who are hitting him if he has no orders from the players. I would think he would be automatically aggressive against anything hitting him. This would make more useful, like the Torchbearer who can be a "Plant and Forget" type Demigod who can function as a turret if left alone.
In this new Build, the Items are incredible. Great how they have so many uses, and plenty to pick from which can really bring on the hurt. I can get anywhere up to 65% to 75% worth of life stealing items depending of how many I can get, and with some with an additional damage boost makes for some nasty results. Items which go into the Potion slots are even more useful than ever, with instant traits that make them function like worn items but with 'additional' quirks like a 500dmg burst makes them all the more wonderful. But with so many new toys, a Demigod can become nearly indestructable! I've yet to test these agaisnt players, but when against the AI - the computer doesn't stand a chance. I walk all over them with ease!
And because I can make my Demigod so god-like, the AI, grunts, and defensive structures become pointless. They can not hurt me, nor stop me. I can kill level 12 Demigods with a level 20 Demi god in two or three hits, and I mow through the entire board without a single concern for my health or well being. I do so much damange so quickly with such a high rate of regen and life steal, there is never a need for potions. The first Beta Build, this wasn't possible, and there was still the possibility of being killed. But since I've yet to really try this build out with players, I dunno how this will all work out in the end. Unlike the last build, it will be worth playing this online again with more people!
