[Gameplay] WASD? I like A for attack

I know it's been taken out since the first beta patch, but I personally thought having A used for attacking was really nice. Now that it uses wasd for moving the screen I don't know how to set my demigod to move to a location while attacking everything along the way. Anyone else find this a problem? Also, I believe Edge-scrolling will be implemented in Beta 2. When that comes I feel like wasd won't be as important. What does everyone else think?

wasd as you control-input for moving the screen is the best option in my opinion. you just got a lot of keys arround it and you wont have to cripple you hand to reach those keys like you do with the arrows...

cant you just edit you settings to set "attack" not on "a" (why you explicitly want it on A i dont unterstand... just because attack begins with a? not realy a reason... STRG A would be a better hotkey as i think... or F) but on anouther key? you got learly 40 other keys which are usable, combinations not included... or even the 3rd mouse key....

 

i realy like it as it is now... maybe because i hate to scroll with the mouse...

The problem isn't that attack-move is no longer A. The problem is that attack-move is appearently no longer there at all.

WASD as a screen mover is pretty much where the sub-genre needs to go - see Multiwinia for the perfect RTT camera control.

Thanks TBO, I did not know that. The other reason I like A though is because it is close to the 1, 2, 3 and 4 key which was nice, but if they make it another key that is in that vicinity, that would be ok to I suppose.

My finger is also really used to hitting A thanks to starcraft/warcraft and other RTS game, so now I sometimes move the screen and stop following my demigod by mistakingly hitting A. Then I have to go find the T key in order to re-target my Demigod.

Dislike the wasd screen control.  Just give us the ability to remap the keys and i'll be happy.

WASD is good defautl.  But of course being able to remap keys is best.

 

I like the WASD screen movement.

go key bindings. ftw. I hate how some games are like were gonna make the keys really far apart so its hard to play game yeah. And whats even more fun u cant change the key configuration more yeah. It makes me want to do bad things with my shotgun. U guys nvr heard anything about my shotgun. got it. or else.

Back in Quake 2. I changed keys to RDFG to have a bunch of keys around my fingers. Feels stupidly limiting to use WASD, due to (other then Q) no real bindable keys on the left side.

I guess for Demigod it wont matter much, I wont have much binding to do (thank god) but it's just to keep to my normal setup.

I see. Yah i just usually use wasd for shooting games so I dodn't need so many keys for that.

Key binidngs really solve this.  When it came to assassin gameplay in the last version, "WASD" was rather comfortable.

 

We'll have to see how it plays with Generals, the same could hold true.  Also, I think "Attack Move" is likely to be more intuitive these days then "A", but I didn't play Sup-Com, so I could be wrong.

me too, the first thing i'll be doing is unbinding the camera controls and putting the first beta's controls back in.
