First game

Bought the game and played my first game.

I played as the Rook against Unclean beast, easy AI. In the beginning of the game i got stomped, but then I concentrated on power my minions and hold the the flag that spawns reinforcements.

I won the game, even though my computer opponent won most of the prices.

Excellent game. After a while I sort of realised what different choices thera are available and that this is NOT your average RTS.

StarCraft 2 is coming out this year... who cares?

Well, I watched the full game they posted over at starcraft2 between two players. "who cares" sums up exactly what I felt.

Just remember Demigod is still in beta.

Edit: To be fair, so is starcraft2.

Starcraft's general Gameplay is just boring and terrible, it is so uninspired and it is just tailored for the competitive multiplayer market but unfortunately excludes an important aspect required for gaming... FUN

For a beta it's a lot of fun and I dont think I have ever felt this way about a beta. Retail will be great

Well, I was a bit rude about Starcraft in another thread, but to be fair I expect the full gamut of modded game modes from Warcraft 3 will make the trip over to Starcraft 2. I can't imagine it will be unvaried. I don't expect to be buying it either though.

It's fine if a game isn't your "style" but that's pretty bold calling it boring and terrible. Isn't competition FUN to you? Do you not like well balanced games with high learning curves? Or should we keep moving on the trend of making games tailor to casual players. Which for me just get old after a month or two. All I ask is to attempt having an open mind and show some signs of maturity and respect here for a game that was done so much for the RTS genre.

This is the reason why Starcraft is still so popular today is because it has a pro scene that is FUN to watch. The top korean progamers are playing a game at an amazingly high level that many people could never feasibly reach. Hence it's like watching an actual sport. Casual games don't add any of this to the RTS genre.
