This is an idea for the achievements viewable for each Demigod from the main menu. Currently the they only provide favor points and have no other use.
What I propose is that a 'Title' is given for each achievement that can be selected from like favor items. The title would be based on the achievement and would be added to a player's name. Ex Unknown924 => Unknown924 the Patriot Only one title would be permited per game with no switching, like favor items are now, and they would be demigod specific. Ex I need to unlock the Patriot achievement for each demigod I want to use the title with.
Titles would grant bonuses based on what was required to unlock their corresponding achievement. To prevent them from being overpowered early game and underpowered late game, they should scale based on level. such as 'the Patriot' giving a 2% bonus to flag capture speed per level.
Achievements based on skills could increase in power based on the number of points put into a skill. To use Regulus's Sniper acheivement as an example, picking the title 'Sniper' would give: bonus damage at one point, increase the bonus damage for distance at two points, decrease cooldown at three points, and decrease the cast time at four points, the fifth point would have a doubled chance of stun or an increased stun duration.
By making titles visible to everyone, opponents would have an idea of what to expect. This could also be used as a diversion by making them unprepared for what you really do. It also lets you feel proud of getting an achievement by showing it off to other people.
Some general ideas for title bonuses:
General minion titles give stronger minion or more minions
Millionare gives extra gold from kills and gold mines or just a flat out rate per level
Level 20 gives 1% extra XP per level
Deal X dmage with skill - either damage per level or imporve the skill for each point put into it( Such as my Sniper example above)
Demigod kills - bonus damage against demigods
Kill 10 levels above - bonus damage to higher level demigods based on level difference
Kill 10 levels below, as above but for lower level demigods
I think that if Titles are used, each one should be as unique as possible. The most important part about them however, is making sure they scale based on level or points in a skill. That ensures they are useful both at the begining and end of a game. Also, by making titles scale instead of a flat bonus, player skill is required to make use of them.
