uncompressed *.zip.
it really isn't an issue to extract, modify, archive. i mean, the SupCom patches do this, and they're only 40MB. granted that they aren't milestone shifts from b1 to b2 that require 40,000 lines of code changes and 9,000 new textures and effects data.
IIRC, there was a patch that was only 300MB. that was a smallish update to one beta.
[PS:] in this case i do believe it's an issue with the way Impulse works, considering DG is pitted at Impulse's cornerstone titles i still hold hope that it'll be properly delt with.
