I just had a random idea about the citadel upgrade gold and the like.
With the recent draw to help make items more expensive, as well as citadel upgrades and the like similarly being made more expensive, while the income of gold being kept the same, it seems to me that most people in the game will prioritize upgrading themselves over their own team since, if they do better, their whole team will do better.
However, this is self destructive as, if the underlings and buildings do better, the team as a whole can do better as well.
So, this idea came to me of, what if a small percentage of gold went into a general fund for the team that could be spent on citadel upgrades. The gold can come from just a small amount of an individual player's earnings, or it can be based off of something like, a percentage of all gold spent on items is added to the fund.
It could even come from "the forces of light" kills. Where it comes from doesn't matter. However, giving players incentives to check out the citadel, as well as proverbial "free upgrades" to the citadel could in my opinion help with the idea of players otherwise ignoring this situation.
Naturally, greed of this nature won't exist among professional teams or the like, but more noobish teams will likely ignore the citadel, leaving upgrades to the more experienced people (Who then suffer from having no items to themselves) or to no one at all if everyone is only self-interested.
Thoughts?
