--Is there some sort of lobby chat in game (where you connect to games)? If so, I would think there needs to be several different channels to join. Lobby channels show how many people are in it, possibly location, and pings. Probably will need this when 50 games show up in the lobby and you can barely message your friend cause chat is getting spammed.
--With that, would be nice to have private chat and team chat in the lobby of a game. That way you can discuss with your team what or who is going to be what and how you will start out with money etc. Like another topic I just read, his partner spent all his gold on stats and he had to do defenses, this is nice to discuss beforehand.
--Will there be a friendslist in game? I know there is Impulse, which I am not sure if you can follow people off of or not yet. I really hope it is not that, if it takes 20-30 seconds to load the game and you are following a friend, I suspect the game will be full by the time you get in. Imo, most game hosts do not listen if you tell them your friend is coming in or they are wanting to get the game going and do not pay attention.
--If possible, would be nice to have an auto-join feature, as far as I am aware, no other games do this. Auto join such as the one on Steam (by Valve), where you can join the game when somebody leaves, will also show information of the game, ping, and refresh. This would be verrrrryy useful especially with a friends list, I can assure you. This can add on to the friends feature, especially if the hosts kicks a player so you can join.
--Also, voicechat of any kind? World in Conflict implemented it pretty well for a RTS, one of the few. I personally use ventrillo for many games, but having the ability to chat with your team/group is a definate plus. Games are also getting more -new age- and can be a lot more fun with voicechat. Remember to mute other players and the ability to test your microphone in options!
--Would also like to suggest when you add an AI to the slot, you should -not- have to kick him to replace him with another AI of a different kind.
--When you select what kind of game to play, I find it tedious when all options get reset when you switch types of play. While that really is not a big deal, WC3/SupCom/TotalAnnihilation all had very few options compared to this and redoing everything you just did can be annoying.
--Also in the Hero selection screen, without clicking on the arrow for more info, the weaknesses should be displayed along with the strengths or right next to it.
I am still doing a ton in game and have a few suggestions on that and probably more about gameplay later on.
--The loading screen should have a bar to show the user how close level is to loading or a percent.
--Should also show the players in the game and who has loaded or not, this will inform and show the host of who has timed out or is experiencing problems. Not that they can do anything about it, but information like that is always helpful so if it is a match game people can restart right away when they load in. I believe Command & Conquer Generals did this and so diddddd Warcraft.
--The citadel is still very weak in my opinion, even upgraded to the fullest with all buildings max stats. I can have all units bought and destroy both towers on each side and my units will go straight for the middle, when those towers in front are destroyed they will go for the main citadel. 4/5 times the units will kill the citadel without me even being there, flags on both sides of the citadel completely ignored. If it is a bigger game, it should take 2-3 demigods to kill it working together, not just the little units lol.
--Why can you not rebuild towers? I ask for several reasons actually, if you want to rebuild your defense after a demigod crushed many of your towers or maybe one of your team members is the defense demigod/money defense person. While the goal is of course to destory the opposing team/citadel, should be able to rebuild I think, even if it costs something from the citadel itself. This will make the games last longer and take more teamwork to be able to defeat the opposing team.
--If you zoom all the way out and rotate right the camera will not snag, if you go back in and go back out and go left the camera will sometimes get caught up.
--Most of the time that you have the 1-5% chance of doing something or something happening, really? =/ This is regarding equipment you can buy. While a lot of demigods are very fast attackers and after 20 or so attacks you can get that 5% chance to do something, the enemy will be dead or your ability will be wore off by the time you do anything with it. A lot of times like General Demigods ability of when he dies he goes into a Frenzy for 10 seconds or whatever. Most of the time that happens, the other god will run away or I am forced to attack a tower because all enemys nearby were practically dead or low anyways.
--I see that most equipment is basically specific to a certain type of stat, especially helmets. While I think this is sort of good, it really does not bring out a variety of demigods that there should be. There should be an equal number of equipment for boosting mana/hp/attack speed/speed/etc. If a player wants to buy all gear with just speed and maybe attack? He would sacrifice HP and armor. If a player wanted HP/armor, they would basically be tanks but could only do so much damage. I like all the gear options, but seriously hardly ever consider 3% attack speed or whatever it is to be a big deal. I do not even know what my attack speed stat actually is, so what would I know that 3% does for me? Having different types of demigods (stats on equip) will always give players a different experience. Some guy said this was not the case in my other thread, when he is wrong. Almost every single helmet is basically mana, prime example.
This was orginally posted in another section, but Impulse forums wouldn't show it until I got in the enet and found it.
