The AI seems to be very slow in acquiring minions when it's playing a general, and sometimes forgoes its special minions altogether. In a normal game that lasts 20-30mins, it's rare to see any idol minions at all, which means that half the time I won't see a single minion from an AI general in a game. Same goes for the creeps bought from the fortress. I played one game which I deliberately dragged on to see what the AI would do when given time. I was playing Regulus, with Sedna and QoT against me (both hard AI). QoT did use her shamblers, but I didn't see any Yetis during the entire game, which lasted for 65 minutes or so. Priest creeps appeared at the 30 minute mark, and I saw the first idol minions around the same time. Angels came at 36 minutes, and catapultasaurii and giants soon after that. I think at 45 or 50 minutes I was facing full creep waves as well as full idol minion armies from both generals (not sure if they were level 4 idols though). I did manage to win by aggressively killing the enemy demigods whenever I saw them, even though at one point they were quite literally knocking at my gates. It was quite a fun game really, even if it was rather chaotic at the end. I ended up buying 3 artifacts, nearly all citadel upgrades and dealing over 1.3M damage
And perhaps the reason for the AI's slow pace with idols and creeps was partially because I died only once but struck them down 37 times
