Their minions feel a bit bland, The only of them that feel like they are adding something are the priests, the
ranged are nice for what they do but I hardly never bother to buy the melee guys. So me and Lilakuh was discussing a
bit in #Demigod and it ended up with a quite cool suggestion for generals playstyle.
Instead of having 3 different units, with 4 idol levels each like it is not I propose:
-Make it 12 different units!
-Have each unit have some specific niche or trait/skill such as creating a shield over itself, healing, AoE
firecaster or Ranged with Critchance or Manadrain et.c.
-Allow any General to combine any of these 3 units into his setup, so he could create armies consisting of a healer,
one ranged manadrainer and one spellcaster. or one shield unit and two different ranged minions to allow for some
great back line defense.
-Have these minions stats low at start but base them on the demigods level such as 300hp + 50hp/level (this is ofc
different depending on what kind of minion it is). This allows for scaling of your minons throughout the game.
Some examples of what could be done.
-Ranged low damage 15% slow/ damage per second poison
-Ranged medium damage manadrain
-Ranged AoE/Line low damage
-Ranged medium damage, long range, high crit on a 10% chance
-Melee medium damage 15% chanse to to interupt spellcast
-Melee high damage slow attackspeed, heavy armor
-melee Medium damage, lifesteal
-melee low damage, fast attackspeed, chanse on hit to make the target take 10% more damage over 4 secs
-Spellcaster no attack, Carriers a obelisk that creates a shield around the area when stationary, disallowing any
missiles from entering for up to 1000dmg, then it must recharge for 30 secs before able to be put up again. if the
shield is up and takes 300 dmg, it will regain to full health again if not attacked during 15 secs.
-Spellcaster no attack, Healing wave, 10% increased armor for all nearby minions
-spellcaster low damage ranged, Bloodlust, 10% increased attackspeed for all nearby minons
-Spellcaster no attack, Area of Effect cloud that reduces enemies chance to hit by 20%
For an example an Oak may go for his laststrike=heal skill and as such decide he doesn't need too much healing from
his minons, He therefore picks the Shield spellcasting Minon to start with and then adds another spellcasting minion
that got a +10% attackspeed aura to help him out with his killing. He may top it off with either a ranged unit with
slow poison to help him chase up on people trying to run.
Overall this creates much more diversity in a Generals playstyle and separates them much more from the playstyle of
the Assassins
I know the game has been in development for a bit now and Im not sure if one can expect a change like this as close
to release as we are (70 days). but atleast I hope to inspire the developers a bit.
