I liked the visuals. I liked the voice acting. I didn't like the script.
Look at the intro for Total Annihilation. In the first 60 secs, we get the purpose for the war and what Victory means. It focuses the mental state toward single and multiplayer. Arm played vs Core for the fate of Humans across the Galaxy.
I watched the intro twice and think that I understand what's going on. I could be mistaken as it seems to conflict slightly with the text on the web site.
From the Demigod intro, I got the idea that the gods destroyed the universe during a meeting. They were scheduled to have another meeting shortly. However, during the intervening years, they threw down the Progenitor and now can't meet the quorum needed to destroy the universe again. In order to have the meeting, they are looking to raise one of his kids to divinity. Then they'll destroy the universe... I think.
The first problem is the terminology they used for the piece. The script was too technical. The easiest way to put it, there was too much new vocabulary introduced; too many references to the game fiction. The script also fails to address the central conflicts of the multiplayer story.
The second problem is that it doesn't really address why any of these people are in the competition, why do they align along the forces of light and dark (the basis for the multiplayer), or what is the real "prize" (Again, the whole purpose of this competition is to hold a meeting to "silence the spheres?")
Finally, Although I did like the visuals, I'd suggest some different effects for different areas of the hieroglyphs, different colored lights, Maybe a black energy takes over half of the "frames" to go with the forces of light and dark.
