Observer mode?

This si something I LOVE more than playing the games itselves is just watching other people play it..their moves, their wins/losses! With each time you observe a game..its a new epic battle with an uknown victor!

So question is (I hope is hasnt been asked already)...IS THEIR OR WILL THEIR BE AN OBSERVER MODE IN DEMIGOD???

I don't know, but it's not a bad idea.  Another thing worth asking is if we'll be able to watch replays online with other people.  That's something I really appreciated in the original Starcraft that I haven't seen in any other RTS since.

Observer mode was available early on in the beta but they removed it.  It was a feature from Supreme Commander so  it should already be fully supported.  Replays are another thing SupCom supported, you could search them through GPGnet.  It was a great way to study how the pros played. 

I hope they bring back both features.

I have mixed feelings about observer mode in any RTS. Sure, it's nice to be able to watch games as they happen... but it'd be unpleasant to have people observing and feeding info over teamspeak.

So, I have mixed feelings on the subject.

 

In the end I'd be happy with a replay feature. Going online to see some replays and/or shoutcasts of matches would be perfectly acceptable.

hard to do live shoutcasts without observer mode though

giving infos away via observer mode is not really a problem as you could always have no observers in game , just live/with a short delay streamed "replays" as in gpgnet with supreme commander have that potential problem

I'll be talking to GPG about observers. I don't think they'll make it into day 0 but we do know they're important for competitive play.

So instead of having movie night...we'll have DEMIGOD PRO PLAY NIGHT!

 

Just need the pepsi and a bowl of popcorn (or salt&vinegar ships) and I'm good to go
