Common Freezes

I'll be honest, the game is freezing alot.

From what I've noticed, these are common, and I'm getting them too:

1) Freeze after cinematics right before title/menu screen
2) Freeze when attempting to join the Pantheon
3) Freeze when quitting the game

Bit frustrating if you ask me :/

Yep. Happens to me all the time.

 

In fact, i cant even log on to internet mode because as soon as i hit log in, it freezes.

Kyro has stated that it's due to the added server load. To be fair, they had no idea they were going to have to deal with this today. It should hopefully be fixed by tomorrow.

All of those points are server calls. We're currently having server issues due to the unplanned load (the release servers were not schedueld to go up until tomorrow with the street date) from the early release and from pirates attempting to connect.

The issue should be resolved when the load issues are dealt with.

Yeah, this didn't happen yesterday. I strongly think it is due to a server side issue, as nothing else has changed since.

Just a quick curiosity question though. How does the main title screen freeze have to do with server load?

Any sort of ETA on when the load issues will be resolved, when do the servers come up on Tuesday, at midnight est, some point during the day, etc?  If for example the servers are going up at midnight, i'd stay up.

I am not upset but I would appreciate knowing when I can play my game.  The single player is great fun but playing online is basically impossible unless your willing to restart the game 30 times hoping to get through each server check.

There is an update check, and the Impulse Reactor friends list stuff also runs whether you're in mutiplayer or not.

I updated without any trouble but I still get long checks whenever I try to play, at those 3 points, when I try to join and quit games etc.

If I get through, I get through quickly.  If I do not get through, I can wait 2 minutes, 5 or 10, it simply hangs for me.  If my computer is not actually online, I have no trouble at all and no delays at all.

We're hoping to bring the better servers up by tomorrow. We may also do a small update to change the server IPs so the pirates get the dead ones and you guys get the good ones.

That would be great, any chance that change would happen today?  I would think a large chunk of those clogging the server now are pirates.  I am eager to play!

Well I played alot of single player but haven't gotten the chance for any multiplayer yet. Going to go in for the late shift now, guess ill see wot happens when im back. Good luck kryo

Yes this is more than likely related since I am having the same issue today and last night I was able to play MP fine.

Is the server down now?  I am able to connect and enter and quit the game rapidly, even log in online, but it shows no servers and gives me an error when I go to the pantheon.

The server availability will be spotty until the release server config is added in preparation for the official release day (which is tommorow)

Fair enough frogboy, and understandable. I'll just continue dorking around in single player while I wait then ^^
