Crackling sound (mostly when zoomed out)

I just bought the game and I've been playing for about 45 minutes now but every now and then the sound starts to crackle. I haven't had this problem in any of my games so far (between 50-75 installed) so I'm guessing it's a Demigod specific problem. It doesn't happen all the time, just mostly when I try to zoom out.

In the game options, set your sound settings to low.  see if that'll help.

I've got a similar problem, but it doesn't occur in-game. whenever I move my mouse in the start menu I get a crackling sound. I've fiddled with all of the sound options, and nothing seems to help. My audio drivers are up to date.

I imagine it'd be a whole lot more annoying if it happened while playing.

I'm using a Creative X-Fi Extreme Fatal1ty Platinum.

Disabling reverb should also help to reduce the issue. It seems to only affect X-Fi users at present.

I have a Realtek soundcard and still have the problem.
