Startup the game, intro videos freeze.. 30 seconds later your at the menu suddenly. Every menu click leads to 30, 60, 90 second wait times while nothing happens. You click on custom game or pantheon and after long waits you might be lucky to see game names or try to join in on the tournament. In pantheon you get an error, "player has not joined tournament, please use cvpjointournament" while in custom game you get long waits and I did get into a lobby once, which didn't fill after 10 minutes. During that time I tried adding my brother to friends list, which resulted in more pausing and freezing of the game. Haven't been able to get into a game lobby since despite trying many times.
The programming for the online play is terrible. Beyond terrible. The singleplayer runs well, looks great, and is really promising. The multiplayer, which is 99% of the game, is not playable. I've tried, I have forwarded the appropriate ports, I have a 4.25ghz quad core and a gtx 295, 8 gigs of ram. My pc is well above requirements, my internet is decently fast, I have a dir-655 router (and I know how to use it). I've done my part, and I can't get this game to work in multiplayer. It was released before it was ready, before it was done. I am disappointed. I'd like to know when the game will be playable, some kind of timeline would be good, and maybe a bit more about what the problem is other than just noting server problems. Since the game uses p2p, wouldn't the server overhead required be pretty minimal?? I guess I'll be clicking custom game and waiting and hoping some more.
