Negative Favor Points?

It seems that in my multiplayer mode, I am LOSING favor points regardless of whether I am winning or losing or killing anything... at present my favor points are at -440, I cannot buy any focus items... and I'm just wondering if there is a specific reason I'm losing favor points, is this how the system is intended to work etc?

If I look myself up on in the pantheon, my favor points and experience seem to be fine... but in game... I have -440 points and counting...

Sorry if this is a retarded question, and this is working as intended... just thought it was weird that I'd be losing so much favor when in the few games I've played in pantheon, I've won about half of my matches at least....
