I can clearly see the potential but ...

... Demigod should have seen another 3 months worth of development and some beta with overseas testers.

Since that is nothing new, I'd like to add my other cent:

+ I keep playing despite of all the bugs, because even the one out of five pantheon games that work is so much fun

- the game needs a lobby and some community features
- give me something to do while I wait for a game, even if it is just inane chatting and arranging games
- I want to build friends lists
- I would like to have team based pantheon matches, not just random
- team based multiplayer needs voice chat (is there an x-fire community or something?)

- single player?
- the missing campaign and tutorial are not on top of my list, but at least add something between "normal" (= far too easy) and "hard" (= too hard, for me at least (sedna))
- AI is a joke if it isn't set to cheat, I can't believe that this comes from Stardock (GalCiv, SoaSE) and GPG (SupCom) which all have competitive AI (compared to my abilities at least

+/- knowing Stardock and the love and long time support they put into their games this botched release has really put a dent into my fanboy attitude towards them - on the other hand I really hope they work it out and the community stays patient. It would be such a shame if this unpolished gem suffered the same fate as Hellgate: London for example...

try shift + tab to access to the social features ,
and i also think that demigod would have beneficied from some more dev time, but not 3 monthes, one would already have allowed them to fix many of the remaining bugs and add some features like arranged teams.

And the ai is at the same level as the one used in supcom, it is just that the learning curve of the 2 games are very different.

Judging by what I've seen in the pirate copy (before you kill me with tons of rage - I CAN'T buy the game till 30s of this month, it isn't avaliable here yet [Poland, central europe]) I gotta agree that DG could use a month or even two of further developement before release. There's none real issues in the game itself (xept missing campaining and/or tutorial?) but that what's going on with multiplayer on the official servers (i didn't even TRY to log into those, just read a lot of complains about) is quite bad. I'm sure this could be avoided by 1 week of real server stress-tests (like open beta) but it's a bit to late to be vise and smart

Anyways - AI on normal is a joke, hard is really easy if you will get into game, and nightmare cheats with gold and exp - at least i think so - but that's what makes it a REAL challenge. Played quite few games with my friends on lan. 1v1, 2v1 (i almost won that with sedna, shes hax ) and "bigger" ones, like 3 vs 3AI. 1 hard combined with 2 nightmares gave us a really hard time, it was tons of fun tho. Also, AI made me go "lol..?" more than once, so i can't agree on a statement that it's a real failure. One time I've been chasing almost-dead Erberus, Oak tp'd in, casted shield on my target and stunned me right after. Actual TEAM-PLAYING AI, I were impressed. Besides, it's possible (i think) to add more patterns to AI behaviour, it's just not as needed as more demigods/maps/working multiplayer, so give this some time.

Tutorials don't exist to make you good, they exist to show you how the game functions. Becoming skillful is a completely separate matter.

Well, you live and learn Tried shift+tab and totally have to take back my rant on missing community features.

If someone now could please tell me where the manual is that came with my digital download ... must've overlooked that, too

Because it's SOOOO hard to figure out how the game functions in an easy ai skirmish game or 2. Seriously, the tutorial argument holds no water. Or at least not enough to warrant the negativity.

There is nothing that says it is ok to STEAL simply because a product has not be release in your locality. I'm sure you can buy it via Impulse...

Pirates have no right to complain and I am sure about 70% of the people who came to complain about no single player mode and linking to where stardock said there would be single player, are pirates.

P.S I am not calling the poster a pirate just a random spam.

EDIT: The shame of it is that there's like 50 absolute sheep...and reviewers that you'd think SHOULD know better, badmouthing DG because there's not a tutorial.

Gotta make it plain and simple for those folks.

My opinion.. (some of my friends)

yes Yes.. evry game house make crappy games exept Square, (we are ff fans but, i love theyr all games) Atlus (i just love theyr RPG's) for console gaming and Best of em Blizzard for pc gaming (starcraft and Wc3 rules)

Good Game For long time.. thinks most of my friends

after about 6 hour playing (evry one tryed 1-2 time All characters) we Thought This Game is Almost GODLY.

just few Minor things.. Bugs.. "soldiers" are out of map's walking area running without moving (as if they were frying)

"beast" sometimes just STOP's (for coffee brake?) when i click it to attack Tower next to him. (other characters does this too but its less common/rare)

Sniper/vampire lord.. too unbalanced characters.. 2 craziest KILLERS..

difficulties and how to test em... (i didn't use artifact shops or Faith Points or what ever they were)

Easy = super mega duper Easy.. you can't Loose this fight.. ///(ME)+3 easy VS 5 Easy

normal = they are better ? (we are hardcore dota players and don't se the differences) they still try to go 1 on 3 or run past you ////(ME)+4 easy VS 5 Normal

hard = this is normal.. (we don't call em less intelligent enymore) but they are EASY unless you give em vampire lord and Paladin. //// (ME)+3normal VS 5 Hard

Nightmare = this is what i call hard. die start of map to Paladin and its 80% chance GAME OVER. they have redicilous fast exp and Strong equipment. //// (ME)+3normal (they die too much but what ever) 1 hard VS 3 Nightmare+ 2 Hard

picking 5 nightmare is 99% chance of GAME OVER couse i never pick more than 1 hard on my side and 0 Nightmares

Lan Playing: 3 hour we tryed to get game on.. There something BUGGY about starting Match..

examples. evry one joins click ready.. i press launch "And.. Example1:" Error.. mister 2 isn't connected to Mister 3

then i make new game same as above "And.. Example2:" Error host not found.. LOL

"And.. Example3:" Mister 4 dosn't see this game enymore until he restart Demigod.

And.. Example4 and 5 are there but i don't have much time left.. its night and i have to go work tomorrow morning..

LARGE things no one liked.. ONLY 8 different Characters.. (dota has more than 100 in one versio and they make new ones evry 10 patch)

Yeah, I can buy it via impulse and pay like 30% more just for doing so. Besides if I buy a game I like to have it in a box, on a DVD, so if that makes me "scum" in your eyes i'm okey with that. Even more - I don't care couse I know I'm not getting anything from this game without a retail copy and actually downloading a pirate made me want to buy it couse it shown to me that DG is worth my money. EOT.
