I think the problem with Erebus is that he has just a little too much utility.
This is especially noticeably in the Pantheon, where the Light just doesn't have anyone that is able to use the same escape mechanisms as he does, or really counter his escapes.
Though he's intended to be the Light's version of Oak in many respects, in practice, only Regulus can really reach him. The Light has too many slow, or range gimped characters. Playing as Oak, I'm forced to use the tactic of ignoring him, because I know as soon as I wade into range and get some damage on him, I'm going to be stunned, he's going to move out of range, and that can pretty much continue ad infinitum.
I'm not sure if this can consider to be ideal, because the match ups should be fairly even, and there shouldn't have to be such a reliance on Sedna to silence in the early-mid game just to deal with him. I'm not 100% versed in all the DGs skills yet, but I am noticing a particularly high number of extremely difficult to kill Erebus' and it doesn't feel right
But utiliity is good. I would prefer him have the utility, and not as much of the killing power.
But still people will think he's lame, but I don't care. Even in beta, when he was considered the weakest, people would complain about how I played him on the forums.
It's kind of like saying "omfg blue decks are such bullshit" in magic: the gathering. Blue deck isn't overpowered. Not everyone uses blue decks. But yes, they can be made really damn annoying with bounces, counterspells, take ownerships. But without those types of blue cards, MTG wouldn't be as fun, varied, or have as much depth.
Erebus is the blue deck.
HAHAHAHAHA. Did you really just try to combine two skills to make one skill seem balanced? Thank you for the laughs.
Did I not make it clear that I was saying it's two skills?
I would say those two skills are each about as good as bite. Heal not only heals, but dispells. And it has a lower cooldown with her aura. The pounce interupts. The armor reduction on bite becomes negliable late game against other people, so it's only worth noting the move speed decrease which only has an effect against someone fleeing.
I'm just saying you have to look at things as a whole and at all they can do.
