Sedna is the way to go for a minion build. You have to focas all of your money on minion armor and gloves. Also use your favor points for general items. You can accually get a pretty powerful army on your side with minions doing about 75-115 damage. That added up is alot of damage when focas fired ( wich is a must use strat for any minion build). You also have to practice with the controls to get used to them and to learn when to just send in your minions and not your Demigod and vice versa.
Actually, I would make the argument that Oak is the way to go for a minion build. At least, Oak is the way to go if you want to deal damage. I suppose Sedna has better survivability.
Firstly, the Morale stat is the same for all generals. Sedna can have 4 Yetis iirc while Oak can have 10 spirits. Morale adds 4 Weapon Damage to each minion. This is +16 for Sedna, but +40 for Oak. (Actually, 40/64 assuming they have all their generic minions as well.) There are six levels of this, so it boils down to 240/384. This isn't even touching on items or any of the other minion stats.
Then, you have to consider the fact that Oak has more damage-oriented abilities. Penitance and Surge of Faith both give drastic boosts to the army through making the enemy take extra damage and allowing the Oak's minions to attack faster.
And just throwing it out there, but it is much easier to get more Spirits for Oak than it is to get more Yetis for Sedna. If you're in a battle, Sedna is reliant on her cooldown to summon more Yetis. On the other hand, Oak can easily plop down a Ward or two for a constantly refreshing supply of Spirits.
The biggest problem with minion builds is that they are fairly weak in the early game. Once they get rolling and have enough minions, I've found them to be extremely powerful. I am somewhat disappointed in the lack of minion oriented builds that are posted around here. I think there is a lot of potential that the community is ignoring.
