Good game

Much like WoW, I don't think this game was meant to be balanced around 2v2.  I think the sweet spot is 3v3+ as far as balancing goes.  Yes, this is far more balanced than most any game you will ever see, but I think in 2v2 there are just to many options when it comes to cheezing (your situation being one).  Atleast in a 3v3 the other team basically has to mix it up or risk losing without some kind of support or heavy DPS.

Don't take my post the wrong way, it's just my opinion and no fact is based on it.

A good pair against this is a TB using ice nova to freeze towers and a fast helper to run past frozen towers and avoid being stunned with boulder/getting hit with hammer. Either way after you get to a high enough lvl to where the towers dont bother you the rooks will be at a disadvantage. I had this happen to me in a 3v3 and i was eventually just chasing the rooks through the towers.

Uproot?.. no.  Root can lay towers much more than you can uproot unless you have uproot AND compost maxed.  Spike wave goods okay on them until there is a clump of 6 to 8.

This setup is only “overpowered” if you let it. So you are facing two Rooks spamming towers that are also stunning, hammering and healing their entire health bar off of you tower. My first question is this early, mid or late game? You mention “early on”, but the Rooks would have to be at least level 5 to have Boulder Roll, along with Power of the Tower, Hammer Slam and Structural Transfer. If you and your teammate have not started to adjust your tactics to take on 2 Tower Spamming Rooks by level 5, then you are going to have an aggravating experience.

Adjust your play style, equipment, DG builds, citadel upgrade, whatever you need to exploit the weakness of this 2 Rook build, while trying not to play into its strengths. Like others have said, go for range, mana drains and mobility.

I often play tower spamming Rook. Its a very satisfying strategy as long as you realise what you roll is. Perhaps I can give you some advice.

The worst thing that can happen to a tower spamming rook is to have his towers destroyed. With a 12 second cooldown and a hefty enough mana cost, taking out the towers can be a real pain to him.

Early on he will run out of mana very quickly. Shouldnt be a problem for you to take them down and keep them down.

Later on in the game you really need to have a bunch of towers to do good damage. If you focus on taking them down, Rook will have a very difficult time outpacing you.

If you have 2 rooks pushing the same lane on a larger mao you can always push a different lane. You then go from head on colissions with Rooks to a race with Rooks. Even ebtter would be to dive into their base and take the portal that feeds the lane they are in. Not only will this SERIOUSLY slow down their advance, more importantly, it will force them to come back and take the portal again. An Erebus equiped with a teleportation amulet can be a REAL pain like this. Bat past towers, take flag, Teleport out, rinse and repeat. The Rooks will be going mad as you are now foring them to travel a lot and everyone knows, Rook hates travelling.

Now I cant really see anyone playing 2 rooks as a strat other then on crucible. MAYBE on prison. In either on of these it is fairly eaqsy to dive to the portal and take it over. You dont even need erebus to do it (although damn he makes it easy, espceially on crucible where his mist and bat can be used to awesome effectiveness batting over the gap to the portal and misting in front of it to completely block the wave and gain great XP and money, and then unmisting and taking the portal when he needs to.

In other words, you have 2 options. You can attempt to fight them on their own ground by trying to outpace the speed at which they place towers, or you can make them play a different game where tower spamming doesnt help them that much and their slow speed hurts them.

That would be my suggestion. For backdooring there are ways with every character. The simplest would be to grab a health potion, wait for the rooks to be far from base and then run past the towers, stand in front of the portal flag so the portal towers dont shoot you and take the flag while drinking your potion if you need it. By doing this repeatedly you will force the Rook team to be contsantly moving from the front lines, which then gives you time to engage just 1 Rook or the towers they put down.

Well you can uproot a tower and leave it to die but i was referring to spikes & ranged attack
