Bought the game last Friday. And after reading the comments in the forums since the launch of the game, I came in expecting some problems. Oddly enough, the problems that have severely affected some people have not happened to me. I can get in and out of a game easily enough, and have no problems logging into the Pantheon. I haven't had any multiplayer problems and I have a shitty internet connection (verizon DSL 90KB/s), so I was a bit surprised to see that everything works fine. lol.
Now, the other I want to talk about since everyone else I talking about is... game balance. There are no overpowered Demigods. None. There are overpowered abilities and skills though.... but each Demigod, if played effectively and to his/her strengths, can all be equally devastating. Rook against structures, TB and Reg against other DGs, Oak is multipurpose, Erebus and UB are extreme harassers, and so on so forth.
Some of their abilities and cooldown times will definitely need some tweaking though.
TB himself is not overpowered, but a few of his abilities do strike me as just a bit too powerful... not by much, but enough that he does have a slightly faster experience rate, combined with some extremely powerful attacks for pulverizing other Demigods.
I haven't had a problem with UB so far. Spit is powerful, yes, but the rest of his moves are not nearly as good. I think Stardock should buff some of his other moves and nerf spit just a tiny bit.
Rook is fine as is. But I think he needs more armor and durability. Crumbles too easily.
Sedna is fine as she is, as a support DG.
Regulus I think is not overpowered. I remember people saying all the time he was overpowered... but from what I've seen so far, he's not. He's good at finishing off fleeing opponents with snipe, indeed, but when it comes to actual battle he gets his ass kicked.
QOT... I haven't seen her in action enough. But so far, I think her shield is just fine for her.
Oak seems balanced. Very durable, and strong, but doesn't excel extremely well in any particular area.
Erebus... hmm... I think he's somewhat overpowered. I think he needs less health and armor. A lot less. They should just make him so that he HAS to rely on draining health.
