Im not a creative writer so I wont make a backstory here. But I had a passing fancy for a demigod that might just be different enough from the current ones to work.
Visual Style- The Shogun (you can think of a cool Japanese name if you want) would be around Regulus's size, in fancy samurai armor but with one of the classic samurai masks that looks like a face, with a moustache and fangs or tongue sticking out ect. Id give him a big ol Naginata and one of those nifty back banners, called sashimono IIRC. Id say his armor would be a deep but strong red tone, accented by gold, the armor and mask could quite easily be made to look good or evil so he could fit into whatever side needed a demigod.
Im an RTS fiend, and would like a general that really relies on his minions. Now STOP, I know a general who isnt using minions is doing something wrong, and as an Oak player who relies on top tier minions mid-late game I know how damned useful they can be to keep you in combat do extra damage and kill towers ect. However I always spec my character with myelf in mind, in fact I dont think many people at all use the minion buffing skills available. So Id like the shogun to be really good with his minions, there are two ways I could see this happening and either way Id give him really shitty base damage, I can see him starting the game hitting around 80 and max level (without items) hitting in the 200s. No offensive abilites to speak of, or ranged attacks.
Minion buff ideas.
One possobility is to give him skill trees that make the purchaseable minions into mini demigods, with Minotaurs that hit for around 100 damage, seige demolishers that can do stuff like double\triple damage vs buildings, slow enemies on hit, armor debuff on hit, whatever would test out to be balanced. And buff his bishops to heal faster so they can be a real asset both to the team and the Shoguns mini army. This would be hard to balance and wouldnt be all that fresh, though I think id enjoy playing a demigod like this.
This is probably the most realistic option.
Another possibility is making him act like his own portal. He could summon Ashigaru waves, at the same speed a portal pumps out reinforcements, and basically act as a mobile portal for the team. As he levels up these ways become stronger, and maybe one tree adds archers, then healers, then at 15 something equivilant to catapults. Then one tree upgrades the amount of minions that come out with each wave, and how quickly he can summon them. A third tree upgrades the base stats of the minions and buffs them. When all three trees are maxed (maybe level 16-20) he can get a final ability that allows him to summon big stone samurai golems, which are basically giants.
At level 20 the Shogun would basically act as a mobile portal that summons a more powerful wave of units than a standard portal. The catch is that the units must stay within an area near the shogun or they loose health rapidly, that way the shogun cant just park in the back and let his minions do all the fighting, hes got to stay up close to the front.
Is there any way this could be balanced?
