Except the vast majority never have issues with DRM or even know what DRM is used in their games. The vocal minority of pretend legitmate consumers flood forums with problems involving DRM because they are using a pirated version. I've yet to have a single issue with DRM in any game and I've been gaming on the PC for a long time using just about every digital distribution/drm method available. People were pirating the stuff before big bad DRM somehow just appeared on the scene ruining all those legimate cusomters experiences. Piracy is always going to be around. The only thing that has changed is the petty justifacation attempts today however are getting more complex trying to shift the blame of selfish jerks who think they are entitled to free entertainment to developers that deserve it because they went from methods that aren't very effective now days (local cd key authorization) to something that impacts and annoys pirates such as online authorization and server patch support.
More developers should grow some balls and start calling out what piracy really is and how it does affect their big bad evil game company that produces hours upon hours of enjoyment for millions of players. DRM isn't new it's just more effective now than it was previously which is becoming more annoying for people trying to pirate because it's not as convienant as it was previously. That is why you are hearing all these fake ass complaints of legitmate consumers on forums. Take a look at Iron Lore for example they are the text book example of pirates pirating titan quest and ruining the games reputation because of anti piracy measures working ruining their experience passing it off as the real actual legitmate product experience.
