Who is in prison?

Was that there before?

Okay, this may be really interesting for a lot of people or no people, it depends how stupid I am being.

On the map prison, who is that demon looking thing under the floor? I ask because a few days ago, I swear it was not there (or wasn't noticed). Then in an interview, the lead designer says that one of the new Demigods is already in the current release but didn't say where. Is that demon in the prison a new DG or pretty design art that I should have noticed from day one?

LOL I doubt that thing is a new DG thats going to be released dude. I mean come on its too big. That thing I presume COULD be the Progenitor, the being that was cast down and that you are the off spring of....but that thing is pretty darn Demonic so I doubt that is what the Progenitor looked like. I think its just ment to be a art design though, not to look into it too deeply.

It's always been there, and I've kinda assumed it's that Proggy guy whose position you're trying to fill. His eyes distract me by following my camera, also. Freaky little (big) thing.

If he does I didn't notice that, I didn't think he did though. And yeah he MIGHT be the progenitor but I highly doubt that as the off spring of the Progenitor seem to be both good and evil in equal measure, and that thing imprisoned looks just plain evil.

What, did you expect him to be a force of absolute neutralness? He did get kicked out of Ye Olde God Clube, after all.

I don't expect him to look like a demonic spawn though Zippy. He got cast down for sharing secrets and names it says in the beginning vid, he didn't go on a massive destroying of the universe or try to enslave the other gods or something that thing stuck in the stone on Prison would seem to be up to if it was free. And something like that wouldn't I think be able to begat good off-spring...such as the Rook, or Regulus, or Sedna. I could see the Unclean Beast being caughed up out of that things throat but it seems too evil to have been in my opinion the Progenitor. Its too bad there wasn't a storyline campaign at all...I like games for their stories, at least this game is good enough to do without it though, although I hope they do add one whenever they get around to Demigod 2.

Fortunately, the appearance of metaphysical beings doesn't have to be logical. In the realm of possibilities, I would argue that just because we don't understand it, it isn't impossible. Therefore, anything is possible. Whether we like the answer or not.

A few possibilities

1) Just because it looks evil, it doesn't have to be

2) Maybe it is evil, and the good offspring were mistakes

3) Maybe it was changed to appear evil in order to rationalize the other gods decisions

4) Progenitor literally means parent or grandparent or anything above that in the family tree. Maybe it was renamed

5) Maybe it was imprisoned for other reasons than those mentioned, a coup (consider that everything we know about the progenitor may be a lie)

6) Maybe its physique was changed as part of the punishment

7) Maybe our three-dimensional perception simply isn't capable of percieving its true form

And so on

I vote for random bad guy imprisoned in that prison plane. If you look around you can see a vast amount of crystals/prisons.

HeavenFall those are all possibilities but I wonder if they ever continue the story that it will be that deep in any other one of those ways. Your post kind of points to the fact there simply isn't enough info yet to make a solid answer in any sense. but I wasn't trying to do that, its just my opinion.

That demigod thats already in the game is Oculus, you can see his Files if you look through the game's directory. I'd have to agree with Doddler here, It just looks cool.

Also about the size thing, Perhaps he's really quite small, but that crystal acts as a massive magnifying glass Jk haha

Resist how exactly can you view the file info on Oculus? Im looking through the Demigod files and can't find him under the characters folder. Although maybe its not there. Where is it if not there?

Open up winzip, and search the DG files there. There is indeed another Demigod called Oculus, that either got scrapped or is already preinstalled with the game awaiting activation later as free content.
