Normally I don't have trouble with Demigod's latency; my ping hovers around 200-300 which lots of people find to be high, but I notice no delay and very little sputtering, one maybe every two minutes or so.
However, in my most recent game, my ping was at a low point, about 200, at the start. When the game actually started, though, it jumped up to 1.2k to all connected players. I lagged the game so bad that I had to bail for it to be even remotely playable for the other players. It was my first custom game (usually I play skirmish), but I doubt that's the problem.
I'm running on XP, and have the proper ports forwarded. My system runs the game well enough in skirmish and single player, my sim speed hovers between 7 and 10. I did not see it differentiate, even during the spiking game.
Anyone faced similar issues?
