Quoting Protocept00, reply 16I don't see how people can lose to Sedna. She has great survivability, yes, but she can't attack for shit.
My strat for taking on Sedna, which works for me pretty much everytime is this: Using Reg, I throw mines down before Sedna grenade style, whether Sedna crosses those mines are up tp her, then I nail her with my auto attack since I usually have scope for extra range, following by throwing down mark of the betrayer.... Sedna will usually heal at this point, in which mark fo the betrayer denies Sedna some of that health, I then start throwing more mines to take out her creeps as well as her self, never relenting and constantly bombarding her with auto attack and mines. By this time Sedna will usually try to run and heal, which is time to cast another Mark of the betrayer... she is slowed down as a result and I can keep pounding her giving me the kill.
Just so you know, this build I use is heavily reliant on fast and powerful auto-attack as well as AOF. So far, it has worked everytime.
I really don't understand how people can ragequit over Sedna. If you can't take her on, then go do something else like kill creeps, create a lane by destroying towers, capture flags, or get a teammate to double team her with you, etc.
I consider myself a pretty good Reg (auto attack) but lastnight was humiliating. It was a skirmish, 1vs1 game in the prison map. Within the first minute, Sedna capped the only flag (gold). The first couple fights, I got the better half but Reg wouldn't follow (clciking but he wasn't moving). I couldn't cap the flag without a fight which in turn drained all my pots. Without the added gold, my item/build was very slow. Once I got to 13, I decided to go more offensive since I had shrapnel and mark II. Well, I could get her to low hitpoints but I could never finish the deal (little to no mana). When I did mark her, it added her health and then subtracted the damage caused from the Mark. By that time, she was lvl 17 and pounding on my fortresses.
Late game, (IMO) I could have killed her with my item/build. Unfortunately, start to midgame, she was just too tough of a grind and totally dictated the game. Big slice of humble pie...
What mode were you playing? Fortress? Cuz if it was fortress Reg has the advantage. Lvl 3 scope allows him to attack fotresses without receiving damage since his range is so good. You also probably shouldve went with mines and AOF for easy creep killing and DPS. If there is only a single flag, it's not really a big deal. You should've tried getting lvl3 scope as soon as possible and just started nailing the enemy fortresses and towers and creeps for exp. Sedna wouldve lost, with no chance. As she cannot take on towers or fortresses very early in the game because of her low dmg. Also, did you have swift anklet for speed? And how the hell did Mark of the betrayer add to her health?
Easier said than done, believe me. It was fortress mode but scope III becomes available at lvl 8. Sedna was already level 11 and put a couple points into speed. My regulus build is AF, mine, and MotB. I always take the anklet
Sedna is a money killer 1vs1 with Reg. pots and teleport scrolls killed any money flow. Also, she used the creeps and her yeti to shield her from the towers and fortresses.
Basically at midgame, She took all the damage I could give and then healed to full health. At that point, I had little health and mana. This in turn caused me to use my pots and/or teleport out.
As for the MotB, it acted really weird. If Sedna had like 300hp left, she'd cast heal III. Instead of Mark killing her, it took 600hp away from the 1200hp thus giving her a 600hp heal. i thought Motb was calculated before the heal was added. Has this happened to anyone else?
Like I said, I think I could have taken her at late game but unfortunately it never got that far. Scratching AF would be suicide but maybe focus more on mana regen or a greater mana pool.
