Alright, we all know the issues with Favor items. It has been a roller coaster ride since the game launched. But lets put all that whining aside for a second. I have a simple idea,
Make favor items accessable to everyone! No point values, you just get to choose what you want.
Let me list the reasons why...
1) This is an RTS/Short term RPG, not an long term RPG. What I mean by that is everything you gain or lose is in the course of a single game, nothing should carry over from game to game.
2) Achievements/goals/etc. are fun but extremely overdone in this day-and-age. EVERY game has them, but as long as they are just a side thing, as long as they don't effect game play.
3) This point really stems from the first 2 points. These favor items can be extremely powerful and give a huge advantage to a player. If I am Oak and I am playing Oak, is it fair that he gets his pick of the litter with 2,000,000,000 favor points and I'm sitting here with 140.
4) In the end, everyone is going to have these items unlocked. These bugs are just delaying that fact.
In conclusion, this game thrives at game balance. The game requires that everyone has the same fair advantage at the beginning. Favor items are awesome, they should be in the game because it just creates more options and different paths a player can take. Some may be better than others (which can be entirely based on opinion and play style) but leave that up to the player, not this buggy system.
So please sign this if you agree with me. I love this game and I just want it to work. So hopefully somebody up there will listen to us.
