I love Demigod. I've played through about 10 single player tournaments since I bought the game this weekend. The graphics are incredible. The balance is well tuned. The gameplay is challenging. And most important of all, ITS FUN!
That being said, the multiplayer facilities are embarrasing. I haven't encountered a game that has been this buggy in that area since the rollout of SWG in 2003. Multiplayer capacity is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL for any modern strategy game. I've read the news articles, and I understand that Stardock wasn't anticipating as much piracy at the outset which affected multiplayer capacities. I also understand that the developers have chosen to forego the use of DRM to promote convenience. I appreciate that. However, having read many forums and posts regarding this game and having developed what I feel is a good picture of the community feelings as a whole, I have to say that we appear to share this sentiment:
I WOULD RATHER DEAL WITH DRM THAN DEAL WITH A GAME THAT DOESNT WORK!!!!
Stardock is too good a game developer to see this one go down in flames. Sins of a Solar Empire is one of the best multiplayer games of all time. Please, PLEASE correct this problem before it's too late...
