I would love a 4 player free for all.  Would be a long game, definately some allies and such but it would be fun.

It would always end up three going against one, then 2 against one and finally 1v1... so not.

actually it may not. Since you can't make a hard alliance in game, your minions and such would still attack anyone. Which would make teaming up against one person a lot harder. And not smart either being as that leaves you too open for a betrayal.

But I really like this idea.

This was in an AoS style map I used to play, and people ganging up on people deliberately by entering the same game killed it.

But when it worked, it was awesome!!

If they made it a pantheon or skirmish kind of thing it could work You'd need a minimum wait time to prevent people from queing at once though.

yeah, in random matches it will be a bit harder to cooperate. especially when the cooperating DGs are introduced to the concept of friendly fire.

just as a side note.... it might be interesting to combined this idea with another post (http://forums.demigodthegame.com/351343).  basicly the post is about changing the pathing of grunts so u can redirect ur force toward on of the other players.

as for people just ganging up on 1 person at a time... i'm pretty sure that the point of something like this?  its all about being a sneaking little s**t and surviving to the 1v1.
