Hey,
I am an avid fan of stardock's software and games but please demigod fails in many ways...I bought the game not too long ago and today I tried to play matches over the internet. All went fine for the game (and what I thought of it) until I tried to join an online game which I failed misserably. Asside from the technical steps I need to make (or already made?) I want to say some words as a gamer and as guy who paid money and didn't "download" or "pirated" the game.
On the box it said that it worked well and it was an awesome game and if I passed the minimun system requirements I would be able to play...well I had passed the min. req and tbh the recommened. In the box it didn't say that I had to configure my computer to be "less" secure by forwarding ports in my router. In the box it didn't say that I had to troubleshoot hours and hours to find that I couldn't play the game online, the game which was specifically designed to be played online because it has no save feature and no single player...yes, I payed money and I get to do what the DEVELOPERS should have done ALDREADY to ENSURE! that the game will play well and flawlessly under most circumstances, which fails to do so miserably and that I deduce from what I read in these forums and the game reviews.
I just wanted to tell these thoughts...in compasion to those who aren't still able to play the game online for whatever the reason and payed for it. Also those who payed an done a myriad of things or are experts please when you pay for a good or a service you have rights...and one of that is to get what you paid for and not be a tester in a "beta" quality released product. I don't want to waste my time testing while I could use this time playing or enjoying what I payed for.
one side note: the game is awesome in it's gameplay and in it's graphics...it just fails to entairtain with all these connectivity problems that it has. If I was a reviewer I would give it a very bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad .... bad score due to the reasons mentioned above.
