I wouldn't say it's quite gold yet.
Here's how I would describe it:
People who can play any other normal RTS at this point should be able to play Demigod in custom games just fine.
But here are the places we still have to work it:
- People with ISPs that do...strange things.
- Improving the logic in having the game switch to a proxy server.
- Strange timing issues in joining.
- Pantheon and skirmish robustness in joining (we need the Demigod update from GPG for this)
- Multiplayer robustness - 1 person quitting can cause eveyrone to get kicked (fixed in v1.01 but not publicly available yet).
So I'd say at this point, Demigod is probably where it should have been for release but NOT where it should be a month after release.
And before someone flames me for trolling, I'm the CEO of Stardock. I'm NOT bashing Demigod. I love the game. I'm just trying to make sure people don't think we think we're done.
