Hello peoples,
After playing this game, I've noticed that there are a few minor interface changes that would make for great improvements - a number of which are very reminiscent of old school RTS games and basic logic *ahem*(Hell, some of my issues may already have an answer that I'm unaware of, but the manual is a little vague).
A ) You should be able to click on the mini-map in order to jump to that location - this speeds up the process of teleporting and having to scroll to and from your base.
B ) You should be able to group and assign units - when double clicking the group's assigned number, the map should center on their location. This will prevent me from having to hit track camera on and then having to disable it, because I ONLY wanted to center my screen on my Demigod. Additionally, this will allow the General classes to more efficiently separate their troops e.g. Erebus' summons and idol minotaurs.
C ) You should be able to click on the artifact/citadel shops from anywhere - hell, even make them 'groupable on the 1-10 no. pad', so that you can quickly bring up a window and consider in advance what items you may wish to tier toward. Perhaps you need to double click on the building to bring up the menu - but - if we're going by suggestion B, then all it would take is a double tap of the number you assigned to the building and then a double click for the menu. Actually, this goes for all buildings - this way you can jump to your forward towers to check on their health while flitting fluidly across the map to your Demigod capping a flag elsewhere.
D ) You should be able to drag and drop your item inventory so that you can re-arrange artifacts; for example, you should be able to move an artifact from the F2 slot to the F1, rather than having to rely on your key assignments on a 'first bought, first ordered', basis.
E ) While not specifically interface related, I think it'd be awesome to have a spreadsheet showing the stats of each starting hero and the way that these stats progress with levels. In turn with the allowance of seeing the item shops without standing next to them, this idea provides players with the information necessary to select the gear and skills that best fit their playstyle.
F ) Allow players to choose their own colour in the pre-battle screen (This is a very small addition, but I'd rather shoot myself in the face than be yellow when black is available (This also assists me with my character's Feng Shui)).
Love the game, but just find these minor issues to be a very irritating hindrance. Hell, as I said, some of these issues may result from my own stupidity and have in-game solutions... however, whether they get amended by developers or by someone explaining to me how to solve them, I think the answers will make for a more enjoyable game for everyone.
