Team chat for strategy during game loading

Hello!

I've noticed that in some cases, the loading of the game takes a terrible amount of time.

How about enabling a team chat during that period, while you are waiting?

That would enable you to ask and see what strategies your teammates would consider.

I don't know if that's technically possible (I've never seen a game load screen with chat enabled) but you're deffinetly right.

I play with friends and we use Ventrillo, and the loadscreen is a great time to decide who's going to lock Flag X and figure out who should be buying the first mint upgrade. Deffinetly a good suggestion if it's possible. Would make random ally matchups that much more competitive.

its definately possible and its also something that Stardock has power to do.  what they need to do is put a VoiP system in Impuse so you can simply join/create a room/channel that everyone on you team can talk on.  not only that but this would also apply for other games on impuse like Sins.  so it works out better for everyone.

 

however if anyone important actually checks the Idea section of this forums is another question all together.

I was thinking abotu this feature last night, it would be very helpful, especially for countering certain DGs.

Team chat in the lobby would be pretty nice too, so if you're playing with strangers you can propose demigod combos to them etc.

Err, this would probably increase load time, though I myself would be OK with that. On a decent computer, load screens do not seem to take long at all (20 seconds, tops). But maybe that's only for 2v2. Also, chat systems do increase lag by a little. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for it, but I'm just pointing out the downside.
