Let me explain to you from the other perspective why noobs are frequently not welcome. Now let me start by I don't yell at noobs, I do my best to help them once they are in a game, no point in harassing them once the game has started.
Just put yourself in my shoes for a sec. I play the pantheon tourney mainly, and after waiting around 30min-45min for a game to actually connect, about half the time I am either 2v1 or with a computer. Now imaging my frustration that the one time I am actually with a person that it is a noob, his first day with the game, and I lose.
I am fine with noobs, but I think they should stick to custom or skirmish untill they have atleast played a few games and not ask questions like "Where do I buy equiptment? At the citadel?"
Community definitely has to be more receptive to new players... we don't want this to become a new DotA-styled elitist community.
As much as I agree elitest players are annoying and the moment you make a mistake or make a build that they don't "approve" they cuss you out, but on the other hand, they are dedicated players. As a new game, demigod needs that group of dedicated players to keep the multiplayer alive and well.
