Installer has no access to Windows Installer.

I bought the game today and can't install either Impulse or the game itself. I've never had any problems with installing programs or games and was quite surprised. I downloaded the latest version of windows installer I could find (4.5 somewhere from mid 2008) and tried again, but no luck.

Any idea where I can get a working version? (I'm using a legit version of windows even )

Reinstall the most current Impulse client from here: Impulse Client - Full

That should be all you need.

That didn't help, I'm still getting the same error. =/

Edit: I've figured it out. In one of my frustrated moments I disabled some services... Sorry for making a completely unrelated topic, everything seems to work now.

What is exactly your error? What is your OS? which rights have you when doing the install?

Hello

I found a knowlege base document for you from Microsoft though this is not related to office the procedure should still be the same.

http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B324516&x=15&y=12 - "The Windows Installer service could not be accessed" Just wok through the methods until they work.

My guess is somehow your install service got set to disabled or something.
