Favor Point question possible imbalance

After playing QoT almost exclusively since the start of Beta 2 I decided that I wanted to try out a couple of different Demigods. So already being on the forces of darkness in Pantheon I fire up a TB and as we all know each Demigod has it's own style of play. After being told how bad I suck a couple of times I decide to run a few tournaments to play with builds and get a feel for the demigods. Having served 12 years in the United States Marine Corps, I was taught mission first and foremost at any acceptable cost and this is where my question comes in. On Fortress our mission is simple, take out the enemies fortresses before they take out yours. "Aye, Aye sir, we'll get 'er done!" Thanks to the AI being the force that it is I start up a Fire build TB and start farming creeps for levels while the friend/foe Demigods battle it out on the other side of the map. I work my way around and take out 3 of the 4 fortresses, taking out the occasional Demigod that teleported for defense but nothing excessive. Unfortunately the Forces of light ended up taking out our last fortress before I could finish their last one off. The scoreboard comes up and I got 10 whole favor points for participant???!?!?!? Wasn't the goal of this particular match to destroy fortresses and by the end of the game I had done close to 50,000 points of damage against the primary targets? Granted I was out of the main battles so I didn't get any bonuses for Kills/Deaths/etc but this seems odd to me.

So a whole lot of typing basically to ask do fortresses get taken into consideration for favor at all and if not what is the point for fortress maps? Or is this just a case of me misunderstanding/misreading something?

SIDENOTE - For any new players reading this I highly recommend running through a tournament with a couple of Demigods that pique your interest first and see what works for you, especially if you aren't thick skinned by some "not so constructive criticism" online. It runs you through all the maps and gametypes, though not too much resistance from the AI. /SIDENOTE

I think objectives are only scored if your team ultimately wins. The only way to get a decent personal favor score above 10ish if your side lost is to get lots of demigod kills.

Seeing as you lost all of your fortresses, wouldn't your lack of defense be the main reason why you were able to take out so many of them in the first place? Why reward that?

Favor is awarded the same even for different play modes. You get extra favor for specfic things like most damage done, buildings destroyed, kills, assists, ect. So even though you might have destroyed 3 of the fortresses, someone else destroyed more towers and took the award you had the best chance for.
