Unfortunetly for the pub player demigod is a team game and has 8 demigods probaly 2 more to come Each dg has at least 5 different skills with higher levels and variating tech trees. what im getting at is there is no good or bad players. there are only fail stratergies depending on the format you like most i enjoy 2v2s as they require the least teamwork and focus more on individual skill.You simply cannot rely on pub players to follow a build and strat that works simultaneously with yours. you just cant expect that which is why 4v4s and higher are easily the most frustrating format you might get.you may get lucky and your teams strats may work well with eachother but its always a risk.This is the same case with DoTa unless you are scrimming and you can strat somewhat and communicate to a higher degree with your teammates most games will be frustrating.I'm waiting for a 1v1 map so we can actually establish individual skill in this game.This isnt just rts its fps too with games like cod and cs You think you can establish good or bad players well in games like those its more blatant with identifying bad players like having bad aim.but lack of voice communication and such will lead to problems.A great thing about demigod is that there are enough skills for each dg to make sure they can all be individually effective with the support of a good item build a dg you might think to be pure support like sedna or QoT can actually become a decent soloer.If you want to establish noobs and pros play a 1v1 match.There are obviously some things you just do not do in the game but some of these are stupid and circumstantial.

Some stuff is just blatantly noob but that stuff doesnt need to be said as it does go without saying its like saying banging your head against a brickwall til death is a unwise choice you dont need to be told that, it is commen sense. I was generalising everybody generalises i cant define every kind of noob and every kind of pro.

I think you know what i meant JagerJack your just arguing for the sake of arguing.Im saying that in 2v2s and higher where teamwork comes into play and each person trys their best and yet they still lose to the enemy in many many cases the losing team arent noobs at all they just have conflicting builds and stratergies.The only real test for "Are you a Noob?" would be 1v1 in team games it rarely can be defined as you have mentioned there are just somethings you just do_not_do.But those go without saying as i mentioned.I dont think you need to be told either sure it will shorten the learning time its how most do it though which turns people off they tell em by X player is a fucking noob or X you can just leave.If they genuinly pointed what is wrong in their doing in a non rude manner then good on the people who can achieve that most just rage the unexperienced guy though.They will learn in time anyway usually by LOSING you can tell something went wrong.Commen sense also indicates dying is bad.

I just realised something the way i dont check my grammar and spelling makes it extreemly tempting to argue with me.Ive actually had this happen a few times without realising it.But most of the time when im being fairly serious i have a point but i just disagree with the need of this thread entirely.You know what would be mint? a guide for new players and advanced tips for the more seasoned ones

Yeah lets strat beforegame aswell...No simple comms are good but god its a public game..

As you can see they arent tips at all there just telling you your a noob if you do X not saying Y is a good idea big difference.

Being a noob is not a terminal condition, many noobs lead happy lives once they've come to accept it.

An effective noob cure has yet to be discovered, but there is always hope!



On a serious note, there are many ways to play demigod but if you join a game marked "PRO ONLY" that you can't handle you are just ruining the game for everyone. I don't go joining noobs only games just to kill people over and over.

Its not a matter of looking down on people, and demigod doesn't have to be played competitively. It is annoying though when you lose a game automatically and waste 20 minutes because some random person decided he was "pro".

On a secondary note, I posted this on General, and I will post it here.

I was just looking over the ranking and all and decided to check the last players games, just for the fun of it and I noticed something interesting.

From the last page (8 players total) 3 of them join games titled "No Noobs", "Pros" "experienced players" often. (Arkias, wurvey, frosaly) and 3 others join those kind of games not that often, but still do. Only looking the first page of the game list.

My question is, why?

The funny thing about this thread is that the best players in demigod are noobs according to these rules.

I rather be a winning noob than following these rules and keep loosing.

Anywho, this was an entertaining post. I'm a noob twice over. (Sometimes with Citadel upgrades I'm not sure what to get. I only get creeps). Also I don't lock as much as I should.....

I wouldn't say not knowing all those points would label you as "noob" player but without the knowlodge of those issues, you are not a pro player for sure. I think it is helpful thread made with good intentions. Demigod is an multiplayer game and people, either noob or pro, would definetly enjoy it more by playing with other people that has more or less the same amount of experience in the game. This is pretty much the same in many competetive games, for example, a more common and famous game:chess. So, i really dont understand how people can take Kokujin's post so negatively. Everybody is playing this game to enjoy it, there is no doubt about that. People are only looking for a common ground to do so.

P.S: Since it is written by a non-native english speaker, there might be some grammatical errors.
