So I just got out of a 4 v 4 and just found myself sitting there at the end thinking, "Wow. I wish I could just record that and watch it again later."
In essence, I'm talking about games that you just found yourself absolutely glued to the screen enjoying every second of it, winning or losing.
The game I was just in basically went as followed;
Forces of Light:
Oak, Erebus, Unclean Beast, Rook.
Forces of Darkness:
Sedna, Torchbearer, Regulus, Rook(Myself).
(http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/game/719957/player/69153/)
So it was on Exile(Conquest) and at first it seemed like we were coming out on top. Reg was focussing on mines and the Torchbearer was focussing on fire, whilst I was just going pure aggresive. One mistake we made was not getting Priests as soon as we heard that they did. That gave them an edge that let them push up and capture most of the flags, putting us in a bad situation. Eventually we were down to our last 2 flags, Valor and the Health one off to the side out of our base. Their War Rank was up at 10, while ours was only 4 and they were rolling out Catas, Giants and even a Finger of God whilst we only had the Priests.
We were able to hold them at the entrance to our "base" whilst killing their Demigods over and over again and beating back their reinforcements.
Eventually we still had those two flags(Locking, hooray!) and were occasionally harassing them by running out, grabbing a few of theirs, locking them, and moving back. We were all up at level 20, and them at around 14, and soon enough we were War Rank 9 with absolutely EVERYTHING upgraded up to that point, only thing we lacked were the Giants and the Finger.
Sadly nothing can last as I ended up dying while trying to lock our Valor flag and they pushed in with god knows how many giants and a Finger of God strike killed our Reinforcements that were out at the time. By this point the Regulus(who was lagging and causing many a "desynch" boxes to appear for around 8 minutes straight, much to everyone's annoyance, had left the game, leaving us with a semi-useless AI.
So in the end I had respawned and everyone else was dead, and could pretty much do nothing(aside net a kill on the Unclean Beast) as the Citadel went down.
I dunno, to be honest I was just enjoying actually holding out and making a comeback in a situation in which most players would give up hope(I did, at first).
Total game time was around 59 minutes(I think. The game info says 81.
), and I was quite pleased to have netted myself "Rook the Manhandler" during it.
Honestly if anyone who was in that game reads this, great game(Names escape me, I can only remember the Regulus player being called Diablo due to all of those desynch boxes).
As I say, I really, REALLY wish I'd had been able to record that game. I'm fairly new to this game and I have to say it was a great learning experience(as well as good Boulder Roll&Hammer practice. =P), and I doubt I'll ever have a game as enjoyable as that one was.
Anyone else have any stories about games they've had where they could just only think "wow"?
