concede what a joke??

this "concede" option in Pantheon looks to me like a big joke ... pantheon is just not worth anymore since matches are over after 5-10min oO

I dont know  if i am alone but i want to have fun for a bit more than 5-10min. and since there is this option you not even have the fun to finish your game you built on thats just epic fail .... i would like if you remove this option or change the way it works please ... am i alone??

 

All the time they leave after first kill thats just frustrating megalame, play to the end like a real human

If they only play till first blood then quit why would you want to play with em anyway? Besides if they remved conceed or changed the way it worked people would just go back to rage quiting.

Edit: But I do agree with you besides first blood doesn't mean the match is over.

They could add an option for the "winning" team, that when a game is conceded they can choose to end the game or finish vs ai.

 

It wouldnt really be the same but atleast you can have your final push.

 

Removing it isnt a good idea though.. Plenty of times have i been in a team with 1 or 2 feeders, making the other team have a 4 lvl advantage and 10+ kills on their name while we have 0 (due to lack of teamwork on our side). In this situation you are pretty much dead. I wouldnt want to keep on playing in such a hopeless situation

but the stats will already be sent to the ladder and the Tab button creates the endgame screen instead of the score screen

The alternative is the player rage quitting anyways, which gets the same effect, except he or she delays the game by 30 seconds. You're right, we should just remove it so the disconnect screen can get more play.

That would be pretty useful for new players actually, and would satisfy both sides of the argument.

 

On the note of conceding, would it be possible to note who has conceded on the scoreboard? Or at least put an automatic message into the chat.

Well, I can agree with that ! First two times i played at the pantheon , since demigod was in store , it was ok, but right now that seems like i should play something else! I respect those , who play pantheon till  end of the game!

I doubt it'd get used. Most people don't want to do that, which is why we added concede in the first place.

i wouldn't bother finishing off the AI most of the time. I just don't feel any satisfaction for out witting the computer.

Yeah, when your opponent tower rushes and dies, it's difficult to feel skilled for nailing him.

thats not the point, you've farmed lala 20 minutes ingame, some1 drops others concede game is over.

Well that certainly sucked, i just bought my ashkandor! might aswell let me finish the game

 

-> concede = game ranked but will be played on, and its allowed to leave.

-> leave game = penalty + concede

->finish game after concede = a weird feeling of satishfaction due to being able to FINISH your game instead of having it cut off when the oponents decide to concede

theres a simmilair problem with FF-ing in DOTA, you've finally gotten strong, won a teamfight BANG 5X FF in your face, every1 leaves and you can't even play that fun part of the game.

See, once you get a couple games under your belt, it feels different. When the concede pops up and you hear the victory statement, that's it. You won! Grats man, go play another game I think you'd find yourself finishing less and less games against the AI if you had the option, as you gained more and more familiarity with the thrill of your big sword.

i am not sure if i understand you "pseudomelon" but that sounds like you are happy with it, right?

I have played over 100 demigod matches and i am no more happy with this option ...two games in a row playing for 5-10min and then gets concede makes me pissed off and demigod gets closed and i play a game i can finish with my friend... I mean yeah there is still custom game and LAN game, wich i like to play too but somehow i more would like to play in pantheon :/

well we will see if something changes .... but me is not even so pissed of as my friends, but they wont post in a forum...

The thing is, if the game lasts 5-10 minutes before the players concede (where without the option, they would simply leave) would you really want to play out the next 20 against AI who can afford no challenge? Yes, people should learn to stay in a game after giving up first blood, but they don't, and you and I can't change the interwebs. The way I see it, concede at least allows a team to pull out with some small shred of dignity.

The only way to maintain some dignity is by losing and admitting your loss, your mistakes etc. and learning from that (wow rofl cheap)

That is the only way to come out slightly better then before, there is No way giving up is good to any1 unless you have to go etc. its like saying suiciding is a good thing (irl) cause your being teased at school, Woah big deal!

I would hardly equate conceding a game to be anywhere near a serious issue like teen suicide. And frankly, neither should you.

Rather, concede can be useful for teams who manage to get into an aamazing hole from which they simply cannot recover (I'm talking 0-5 on each player, etc.). You cannot learn something from being stomped into the ground; the best way to learn is to play people who are slightly better than you. It allows you to see new tricks, while practicing the skills you already know.
