Counter This Sedna!

Whatever demigod you like, in a 1v1 situation.

This is a 1v1 situation verse a Sedna. You can counter her with anything but another Sedna.

The idea is to win the match by being superior in a 1v1 scenario.

This situation takes place on Crucible, the game is Conquest.

Your warscore is 5 and Sedna's warscore is 4.

Sedna has currently spent 6700 gold, this includes the initial 1000.

Early game you got a kill for 600 gold hooray!, so you have 7400 gold at your disposal for this situation. This includes the 1000 starter gold.

Our Sedna:

Build:

Heal 2, 500 mana, heals 900 hp.

Healing Wind 2, 24 HP per second.

Inner Grace 2, 15 HP per second, 10% movment.

Pounce 2, 525 mana, 600 damage.

Favor Item: Blood of the Fallen, 800 hp, 5 HP per second

I would go for this UB build:

Notes:

Ooze 3 gives 105 extra DPS, 30% slower autoattacks for Sedna and drains 40 HP/sec from UB. The Ooze damage can kill the minions quite fast if positioned correctly.

I would go w/ a minion Erebus as well, but would probably be less honorable than you Sleepy, by taking advantage of batswarming over the gaps. Also, you're missing out on 1 talent point in your build and your favor item.

Build:

Minion Erebus, or Minions Oak. Take Horn so you can indefinately hold off giants in a single lane. Take max siege archers/priests to chase her down and add massive dps(eventually minos), boots of speed so she cannot outrun your idols, gladiator gloves for more damage, scaled helm so you don't run out of mana for idols so often.

Points go in minion skill + morale/ one rank in Penitence if Oak to interrupt heals and teleports.

Also a good Ice TB would never beat a good Sedna on crucible 1vs1, he does not have enough damage output.

How about: Rook lvl 9

Rank 3 hammer slam

Rank 3 passives

Boulder roll I

Towers II ( normally i'd get towers 1 and save for rank 10 ).

Items, Favor: blood, Armor: Scaled, Banded, Nimoth's, unbreakable boots, Flemish head And wand of speed.

Lure in to 2 or 3 towers, roll slam, wand of speed chase. Hopefully roll + slam + towers + passives kill priests.

Sedna is unbeatable 1v1, if players are equally skilled.

Especially Ice TB is a joke. As long as you keep yourself topped off with heal rather than wait until the last second (and thus get locked out of healing with a strategic deep freeze), you will eat the TB alive.

Fire TB on the other hand is a problem. Still beatable, but far more dangerous than Ice.

Minion Oak would win this easy as hell for a few reasons.

Minion Oak 3 ranks in spirits 4 in morale 1 point in soul power and a point in penitence.

Nimoths plate

2 flag locks and a combat health pot.

remember this is conquest not slaughter.

Something like spam enemy citadel with 4 x general minions and the horn of battle?

on Crucible - Morale Oak (to avoid the lane towers)

on Prison - Morale Erebus (for the minion hp and minimal towers)

I just started with morale builds this week, so I'm debating on whether it's better to

1. skip items entirely and just buy idols and citadel upgrades, basically farm where the enemy isn't and avoid direct confrontation. In this case I would go with Horn of Battle favor item

2. buy things like slayer's wraps and put points in debuff skills, look for fights. In this case I would go with Blood of Fallen or Ring of Divine Might

My first 1v1 game as Erebus (let alone a minion build) still wasn't very close against Antiock, but it was about twice as good the one with a hybrid Oak build ^^

Against good teams more than one usually results in them pushing your teammates out of most lanes, except on Leviathan and Crucible, which are so broken.

to conclude:

nothing beats sedna 1v1 in this state

2v1 is really the only way to go

The combined healing of passives, items, healing spell and bugged idol minions is just way too much for someone to out-dmg let alone out-last.

Get a frost TB who knows how to interrupt + random then we're talking. (Wait a few seconds after a heal, then deep freeze).

I think the Sedna should have bought Gold 1 at warscore 3.

For certain I would have bought it, and should be close to breaking even now on the 1800 investment? (we can pretend since I am ahead in warscore I owned the goldmine longer too).

I am also very tempted to buy priests + smith and armory level 1, because losing the center towers on crucible almost ensures you can never cap all the flags with no open space to teleport to. (I would have noticed her towers aren't regenerating, nor taking down creeps quickly).

For certain any minion build is always difficult for Sedna.... but not spending on Gold 1, or towers ensures she has lost the fight now regardless of how bad ass she is as long as you don't die repeatedly.

So, I am thinking any typical build wins this match by going Gold 1 at WS3, and then Priests and both creep upgrades. Taking down her centre towers means she really can't cap the flags easily without you noticing her going for them. eg: Lock 1 of the 2 deep flags and then go work over her towers when she goes down there.

I guess what gear I buy depends on how aggressive she is. If she is constantly chasing me, then speed is good because I don't want to fight her futiley 1 on 1 (and making her chase me gives the creeps a chance to work over her towers when I do the creep upgrade).

For certain I am going to buy several teleports and flag locks... this almost ensures I will keep 2 of the 3 flags for the rest of the battle now since she is about to be in a real bad place with how to spend her time. (farm, flags, towers, DG?)

Regardless, as long as I don't die, I am also going to get the warpstone first in this situation and get her portal flag by being cheap. (This map has alot of flaws). Sedna is doubly screwed if I do this since she has no AOE.

So really, it doesn't matter at all how awesome she is, she has failed at basic strategy.

Sedna suck big time in 1v1 against Erebus. Pretty simple. There's no fucking way for her to deal with him.

1) No AoE, so he both lvl up faster + she can't take on his horde of walkers

2) Heal \ Bite - the only possible counter-skill for heal. Works REALLY well.

3) Sedna really lose in open combat taking both are at full health\mana

4) Erebus can cap all the flags \ retreat to base without wasting gold on TP, which again means that he level up faster.

I wouldn't go with minion-oak, but that's just due to the fact I don't like his voice.

Also - UB can take her on, with Spit\Ooze\Stun Combined. If you are good - you can stun her heal easily. I mean REALLY easy. Also stun = at least 1000 damage in 2 seconds with active spit and ooze at lvl 10. I mean if you stun Sedna's heal with good UB - sedna goes down.

Dunno if TB can be any good in 1v1 (Even a mixed variant with 1350 fireball and all those Icy crap maxed)
