agreed, every time i come on the forums i expect the dev's to jump out form what ever rock they've been hiding under with a grin on their faces and content to be uploaded.  however that isn't the point at all of my post.  there is a big difference between a game doing bad and fail which i think needs clearing up.

i think the game will do bad without proper a developer to consumer relationship

definition of doing bad: reduced sales with a slow, stagnent community.  poor update and content due to lack of feedback and input form the community

now the definition of failing: developers have to pull support due to little to no sales resulting in the colapse of online support and gameplay.

now the game will not fail because SD states that GP was binded by contract for longterm commitment to this game, that is a fact.  my point for this post is that SD and GPG need ot both realize that the relationship needed between Dev's and Consumers needs to a lot more than a regular game.  most games release one patch every 6-18 months and have little to no content, ever. 

this is a MOBA which is built on two things:  Content, and Balances.  content means a steady flow of ideas coming from the community and a stead amount of feedback form the dev's.  balancing requires a heavy online player base to test and narrow down imbalances and bugs so dev's can quickly fix and update the game.  for both of these dev's need to be heavily active in the forums to ideas can be properly developed and so bugs and fixes can be prioritized and fixed.

currently we are not seeing that kind of activity from the dev's and a lot of people are pissed.  agreed it's only been 2 weeks since the last patch but this is a crucial time for dev's to get feedback on what was done right and wrong by the pathc, and what to do right for the next one.  that is my point, dev's need to give feedback so the community can grow and develop

I have noticed a sharp drop in game,s yeah, which is unfortunate.

Which is probably attributed to being a Friday Night. People are out doing things.

The opengames.aspx got overwritten by the old one that only lists people on the beta server. I've sent an email.

Yea, I sent an email in about it and got them to get the other page up.

Also, as someone else pointed out, I didn't intend to hang out too much once the connectivity got fixed.  The other communities get jealous.

Oh I'm not leaving. I just can't be making posts every day and such.  

It seems like if I'm gone a few days we start seeing posts asserting that Demigod has been "abandoned" which I and others here find maddening given how much daily work is going on for Demigod both at Stardock and at Gas Powered Games.

I think we got a new build in from GPG every day this week.  But those builds have to go through QA and be checked for bugs and such.

It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.  When we have pushed rapid updates, bugs get through and people scream about the "crappy QA".  If we hold back and put updates through a thorough QA to eliminate bugs, we get "What's the ETA on the next patch?!" posts with claims of abandonment.

The next patch will come out when it's ready.

IMO, the problem is that it's hard to see what GPG is doing. Gameplay changing typos that have been in since Beta are still there; as far as the players know, GPG is just plain slow.

This I think is it. On these forums we see Satrdock Stardock Stardock. Of course we do, these are Stardock forums!

If GPG could even give a cursory glance at these forums, even just one post here and there, something to let us see that they're not just shoving the entire PR/Community side to stardock to deal with, I think a lot of shoulders would have burdens taken off them.

When transparency is replaced with a big heavy curtain with messages of "It's coming when it comes", people get antsy and irritated. A simple post can make all the difference sometimes.

we need to have a community wide call out for some GPG posts...

A lot of posts in this thread. Notice GPG have made revenue from the game in its current state. Repairing the game and using resources to 'enhance' the game past what it is currently would remove that margin of revenue and eventually erode at GPG bottom line. So the bottom line is, this game is as good as its gonna get. In there world, it is 100% finished, playable, released and purchased by the public. The connectivity is good enough to play, and there are enough DG and Maps that you aren't only playing 1 person each match.

Sorry to disapoint any avid DG players out there, but the only good games for communities to advocate are open sourceand indie games. Corperations are always after the $, not creating something unique for a community to enjoy for a long time.

That's not how computer games should work. You should support the game for years and build a community. But what do Blizzard and Valve know, they're obviously terrible at doing this and are not rolling in money. I guess GPG doesn't like money.

Quite frankly, if people posted like this every few days that I didn't send them word that I was working, I'd actually abandon them. With all these chickens running around claiming the sky has fallen, I'm surprised their noise hasn't knocked a rafter loose.
