[Bug] no favor points awarded

After a 6 weeks break a friend and I started playing Demigods again. I appreciate the small changes and fixes, but I have problems with the favor points.

We both played several custom games, first against the AI, later against other players, just to find out that he only gets the favor points awarded through achievements, but not the one you get in the end of a game. Unfortunately I don't get any favor points at all. The reason is that my achievements are also not stored. So I still have only 75 points favor points left which is a bit annoying. (I bought the goggles for 75 favor points in my first game to try them.)

Is there anything I can do? Is this a known bug? How long do I have to wait until this is fixed?

The statistics and favor points were resetted a while back, I think it was around the 24th of June.

Everyone had to re-gain all their own favor points from battling, so it's just for you to get to work... I guess...

I've had the same problem since the "wipe" / patch. I've stopped playing since none of my custom game favor points are being added to my total.

I've been wondering if maybe custom games no longer give players favor points since all the talk in the dev forums about rankings and such?

That's actually a good point, duijver. Unfortunately I don't get any favor points because the achievement system doesn't want to store my earned achievements. And what's the point in restricting favor points to the Pantheon if you can't play it with a friend?

I think that you only get favor points for ranked games, Pantheon and skirmish.
Don't know about achivements though. But I think that they maybe not save in custom games, because you can choose which player to play against and there is no stats to play for. That way you could just play with your friend and tell him what to do so you get your achivement.

If it would be that easy to get one, it wouldn't be an achivement yao!

This evening we played as one team against the AI again. (Unfortunately he has difficulties to play games with more than 4 players involved.) We both took a different demigod. The achievements he earned were stored again in opposite to the achievements I earned. There was no real difference. So either both of us should get favor points for achievements or none of us. I guess there is something wrong with the database, my account, the game, the server, ... who knows.

It's also a bit frustrating to get every game the same achievements. That makes them somehow worthless.

Custom games also generate favor. You do not get favor (outside of achievements) for any number of humans vs any number of computers. The real problem is that the end game summary leads you to believe you are getting favor, when in reality, there are quite a few rules that govern what you get. No favor for games < 3 minutes. No favor if the host ends the game (choosing END GAME instead of CONCEDE if the games still going on). No favor if host disconnects their router/cablemodem/etc. There are a few other favor constraints that I can't think of... And last, I've read quite a few posts that indicate there are some current issues with achievements accumulating properly.

Here's what I'd try. If you don't care too much about stats and are just new, play a quick 1v1 against a buddy. Adjust some of the game settings (high starting level + gold, etc). Make note of your favor before and after the game. Give the game 3 minutes and then destroy the citadel. If your favor does not accumulate, then I'd think something must be screwed up with your account. At that point, send an email to support@stardock.com and see what they can do to help or just try creating a new account. Hopefully that gets your favor working again. Best of luck!

Thanks guys! We will give that a shot.

To be honest, my friend and I are still learning and we are not great at playing other players. We have never rage quitted, but we normally get our you know what's handed to us. We are still learning.

Anyway, we normally play 3 vs 5 with 1 AI on our team and then 5 HARD AI on the computer side. We play the game with the citadel must be destroyed and our games normally last >2 hours. Yes, we are slow.

Thanks for the help, pacov. My friend and I played another two games yesterday evening. One game against each other and one against the AI again.

In the first game I received favor points for finishing the game (all the rewards) and the achievements. In the second game I didn't get any favor points at all again. The weird thing is that my friend's achievements are saved and mine aren't (even the easy ones like "win a game").

When I started with the game a few months ago (and it was a pain to get into a game ) I liked to play against other players, it was more of a challenge. But because my friends internet connection has problems with this game when playing with more than 4 players and on larger maps even with 4 players only, we have to stick with the AI. So last time we played against 4 nightmare AIs, but it's still not a real challenge.
