Demigod Lags so bad

How can yoiu sell this game in South Africa if the game doesnt compensate for lag more than 300ms.

 

It takes an electoric signal roughly 350-400 ms to reach europe and a bit more for USA. 

 

I have the fastest available internet connection (lowest latency) available in south africa and just cant crack that magic barrier that the creators of demigod ordained nessecary to play demigod online. So I basically own a game thats only for single (quickly boring) gamings and LAns which I never attend.

 

My view is, if I can play dota, Wow and dawn of War with my connection with no worries why then cant I play demigod.

 

Can something be done?

The game simulates a minimum of 350ms regardless of what it actaully is if lower, so if you can find players with which you can get <350ms then it should run smoothly if your upload is sufficient.

If you believe that the game should not be sold in South Africa, you would need to address Atari about that, as they are the international publisher/distributor.

Well, all I know is my ping varries from 350 - 400 and i all ways get booted for it.

then youre getting booted by idiots that just dont understand networking. if you find a solution / cure to the internet, do share

I've often wondered if this would ever get changed myself.  Whilst the idea (p2p and simspeed link) made sense in concept, it does close down some international play.  I feel it's benefits are outweighed by the negatives, especially if everyone is shuttled to a simulated 350 ping anyway...  I'll pray for the day it can be run as host/client and let people with poor performance and connections suffer on their own.

That's quite interesting, everybody should know that. Can you please explain a bit further what that means for the game, like does everything other Demigods do happen 350ms before I actually can see it? Not knowing this kept me from playing in non-EU games (until now).
