Stop joining Pro games if you are a terrible player

In my experience, "pros only" means the host will throw a fit and blame the others if his team loses, and "noobs only" is when the host and his arranged team is looking to win rather than play.

I'm garbage at demigod right now and I'd love to play with and against my own skill level, and will happily find another game if I'm asked to leave due to my noobstats, but going by room names as an indicator of someone's skill levels just doesn't work at all. I guess I should mention that I stay away from any "noobs/pros only" type rooms in the first place, so I'm not bugging anyone who do legitimately name their rooms accordingly.

From my experience "Noobs" are more disrespectful than "Pros". And the worst are the "wannabe Pros", man, they talk, and they talk, and they talk.... m'I still talking? Damn... bye.

I'd still like to see a definition of a pro. Normally less than 1% playing a game/sport is a pro. Yet everyone, be it a total noob, still noobish, average, good, awesome, thinks he's a pro. While my (made up, yet logical) statistic dictates that it's pretty much a given that they're not. Although ofcourse everyone will argue they belong to that 1%.

Develope some good and absolute (that means measurable or factual) arguments to define a pro. I think most people in this thread claiming to be one won't fit to that definition.

In DG u can't. There is no reliable rank system and no automatch.

You can only say you are(n't), nothing else.

1. Show me where I said don't join my pro games, I said pro games as in other peoples games as well. This is a universal experience and one that people who create pro or good player games know about, people who aren't good or in fact are terrible join those games.

2. What is AstarothLBC's record? Oh thats right its nothing amazing, why would I be titleing games where I play with Astaroth and 1 Pug player as pro again? Right, I wouldn't.

3. I don't know cat, I don't know my bones, and Shin I've played maybe a total of 5 games with. None of those games did I invite them into, they joined because they were online, again, why would I name my game pro?

You have no basis for your flames, you just want to argue. How about talk about the original post, or stop posting personal attacks that have nothing to do with conversation.

For the other posts about how none of us are pro, its already been said several times, the basis of the word pro is to say that you are a experienced good player. I can be a professional technician, that doesn't mean I'm the top 1% of the world, just that I'm good. Its a short word to let people know that if you aren't that good at the game maybe you should join another one OR at the very least not complain that premades or good players are stomping you in those games.

I'm sure I'll get hammered for saying this, but I'll say it anyway. I'm a guy with a terrible record (23-66) who joins Pro games from time to time. I don't do it to ruin anyone's experience. I do it to see how I'm stacking up against the pros. If you look at my account I had my record heavily slanted when I first started playing the game. Since that time I've kind of leveled out to a near .500 winning percentage.

I still don't have that .500 winning percentage though. I only play Custom games which can be against great pre-made teams, or I can have a weak player and/or rage quiter (which was me early on). I have gotten better at the game, but still have a lot to learn. Usually when I join a Pro game the Pros may get frustrated I'm not playing exactly as they wish. I've been "typed" at about not joining them into battles they would clearly not win, told to use specials even though they where still warming up, and surprised on just how serious these gamers take these matches.

I've had a lot of great experiences in Demigod, but some of the worst have been in so called Pro games. I'm sure many will say my experience was deserved. However, it is funny to me how so called Pros are really better than they think they are IMO.

Fair enough if you ask me. Besides, they can also give you tips and help to make you a pro, instead of only flaming you for it.

Also something I've said before in this thread. People don't want 'pro' players, they want players to play exactly as they wish, because they think that's the only way to win and thus the only 'pro' way. They can be playing with the best Demigod player out there, but if he doesn't play as they want him to they'll flame him for being a noob. Combine this fact with my first point and you have a whole bunch of players thinking that (only) they are pro and everyone that plays another strategy is a noob. And behold, you have this thread.

Now I don't deny that there are utter noobs out there, and I don't deny that some, maybe many, of them join the so called pro games. I'm just saying that everyone that calls himself the pro needs to look at himself for a while before pointing that finger. As argumented in this thread before, can we already really tell who is a pro at all? This game is only just on the market and no serious tournaments have been held.

I don't mind players with bad records (i get them on my team fairly often), if there is also another one on the other team (or their record doesn't indicate their skill). Also I don't want players who do exactly what I want them to do at all, in fact the only thing I really want is players that if they die, they learn and don't keep dieing the same way over and over and over. Once they fall for the same exact trick (or even not a trick just stand toe to toe in a losing battle) for a few times its obvious they still haven't learned to play very well. Also its really not that hard to just not die, if people could just learn to not die the games would be a lot more competative.

hosted some "pro" and "advanced" games yesterday and there were people joining.... 2 games in total - 0 won, 25games - 7 won, 40games - 12 won, etc.!

i always ask them, if they feel to be in the right game and give them a clue about the title. most of them still want to play! i really dont understand that behaviour.

even if i tell them that my team has more than 200 games per player with a winrate above 75% and i compare them to their statistics, they still want to fight...

the sneaky thing about the term is the fact it does not recognize any skill lvl above pro.

if you want people with a win rating of over 75% and 200 games ask for that, now humans are morons so you still gona get wrong people joing but im guessing lot fewer.

asking for "pro" is like shoting yourself in the foot sure you can do it but dont act surprised when it hurts

i dont get hurt, i am just suprised how dumb people are. if i know i win only 20-30% of a game, i am definitly NOT a pro gamer.

a pro gamer is - in my opinion - someone who really knows this game/the characters/the maps, who has a more than average statistic and who has a lot of experience. i measure this with "amount of games played", "win percentage" and a look in their gameslist.

the gameslist, cause i want to check if they are hosting all their games themself to get better stats (with new patch hopefully fixed) or if they only play with or against premades.
